20 point Centauri fleet list

I am playing a 3rd age EA fleet this week.

This is my prposed fleet. Any comments or suggestions?

You've charged yourself double for the Liatis. They're battle level, not war.

I'd rather see 10 primus, and then a shedload of Vorchans and Demos.

Ah that's where the missing point went, thanks LDtD, that's 2 more Primus on top then.

I could swop 1 of the Dargans for another Primus but that's it for Primus models. And I only have 16 Vorchans so I can't add amy more. I was considering some Havens but I don't see any use for them

You've got enough Primi in that list. Dargans have their place, too. Make sure you take a few Rutarian wings in there, they're mean fighters and at 20 war you can afford a few wings.

Would you take two more Dargans instead of the 2 Primus? That would bring an extra 4 flights of Rutarians.

I am going to be swapping half the sentris for Raziks to try and even up the fighter war but EA will field more than I could hope to anyway.

My worthy opponent has told me he is taking 12 Omegas and 10 Hyperions, that's 58 Star furies!

I'd consider the Primus-Dargan swap, but they're both good ships. At 20 war I'd some of both, probably even numbers. Raziks are great vs EA but remember they're cack for anything but space superiority. Sentris are on an even footing with EA's best dogfighters, so that's where I'd place the majority of my fighter strength.

I actually prefer Dargans to Priumus now:

Dargans have more forward firepower, but less of it is beam strength. More of it is Double damage though. About even imo with maybe a SLIGHT edge to the Dargan in my eyes (especially vs non hull 6 targets). Primus 0 - Dargan 0

Dargans carry better fighters, hands down Primus 0 - Dargan 1

Primus has rear guns (and better side guns)! Primus 1 - Dargan 1

Dargan is fairly fast and maneuverable, Primus flies like a brick (and lumbering). Primus 1 - Dargan 2

Primus is hull 6 and has more hit points - Primus 2 - Dargan 2

Dargan has stealht - Primus 2 - Dargan 3.

For me the Dargan is the better ship though the Primus still has that 'big beam volley' ability that can be staggeringly useful for dealing with enemy battle and war level ships with high hull and massive dmg scores (you just crit them to bits).

As people have said though, in a game of this size you really should take a decent mix of the two!

The Dargan's stealth is nice, but it's only 4+ so any player worth his salt will soon have that down to 3+ or even 2+. While you are protected by it to a degree, I'd put my faith in the higher hit points of the Primus for survival.

True its not a massive defence but when your taking beam fire Ill take stealth over hull 6 any day

Like I said theyre both great ships and both have their place

Same question I would ask... 2 Balvarins in that big a game don't seem nearly enough...
I'd take a couple more and split a few war points down to upgrade them all to Rutarians and take a couple extra Vorchans

in 20pt war i would expect to see 2 posiedons so max out the maximus and make sure all you fighters are raziks

It's 3rd Age EA I would think he will take both his poseidons with 2 avaengers as back up.

I am limitted to two Balvarins, a bit of a wealness on my part, I think I will have to order another two for future games. I wil need to swap all my sentris for Raziks which should even theings out a little and leave the Rutarians for anti ship duty.

I have decided to drop 1 of the Adira and take an extra 2 Dargans and an Octurian in its place. So that's 6 Dargans, 7 Primus 3 Octurians and 1 Adira in my heavy fleet.

With 8 maximus running escort duty and the Accurrate weapons of 2 Liati I think I should be able to nulifu the EA fighter advantage

i would suicide hyperions into that amount and watch them explode taking down multiple havens that and the fact the EA fighters would have a field day.

I have 24 Havens and I can't think of a job for them to do in this fleet other than die quickly and quietly

How is the firepower from a Haven going to make a Hyperion explode?
None of the 480 are squadroned, of course :lol:
