An atlas by Vincent. I wouldn't care less to wait an year or two for them, I would get them as soon as they were out. It was indeed a dream project, one that would probably become the best sourcebook for a setting ever.
And now it's gone. I haven't felt this disappointed ever since Earthdawn...
For me, this wait will only be worthwhile if the announcement is that Vincent is back on the helm making Conan sourcebooks. All the new sourcebooks after Vincent left lack that Hyborian feel that really distinguishes Conan from all other fantasy RPGs, that makes Conan unique.
Conan is becoming...
Since it's related to Conan due to the fact that both characters were penned by Howard, take a look at the Solomon Kane trailer.

I'm not happy for another long cold wait, and I think it'll only pay off if Vincent is back writing the books. I've got all the books now and, to be honest, they're less than stellar to say the least. They are losing that special touch that makes Conan Conan, something that Vincent was able to do.
Well, I haven't seen Vincent here in the boards for a long time, some of his messages hinted at a kind of spacing away between him and Mongoose, like the story with the Bestiary where he was supposed to do it (he mentioned that here in the forums) and some of the sourcebooks, like Cimmeria and...
And that's my point exactly. As you've said, it could have been worse. But it could have been much better too, if only they had kept Vincent on board, for instance.
This does raise a question, Conan is different from all other settings due to Howard's writings. If a lot of stuff is added to the setting that isn't in the spirit of the writings, then what makes Conan stand out from any other RPG?
Most of us bought the 1st edition because we expected Conan...
Yes, have to agree. For me, the Conan feel is only applicable to the fluff, not the crunch, where it is more important. And the fluff of 2ed, beside Return to the Road of Kings, has been severely lacking, I'm afraid.
