Converting SAS and Force Recon to regular troops.

TAG's guns do come in packs of 10 (or 5, for the big ones) but they're pretty huge - in fact they're a bit on the large side compared to TAG's own models, which stand at a beefy 32mm or so.

    Black Hawk Down Scenario

Big board though  Here's a couple of good links for folks who'd like to do some research into the gaming opportunities: http://inquirer.philly.com/packages/somalia/nov16/default16.asp http://www.flagshipgames.com/mogadishu.htm (I love that one) It goes without saying that the book and...

    Black Hawk Down Scenario

Nice one! As for a campaign, you could have: - The firefights outside the target building - The run for Super 61 - The "Lost Convoy" picking its way to nowhere - The evening siege around Super 61 - The "Mogadishu Mile" out No real changing history, but you could simply try to get through with...

Euro Vision War Brits V PLA

I must say that table looks awesome! The dusty abandoned cars and trucks add a lot of character. Oh, and good on you for avoiding the Eurovision madness - I've disconnected my TV until it's over :D

    USMC Alternative colour scheme

Having a camo scheme is one thing, actually getting it to the front line quite another - MARPAT has been distributed to pretty much all frontline USMC units by now, but up until late 2006 or so you could find many cominations of MARPAT, DCU, ERDL, and even the odd bit of "chocolate chip", in...

    USMC Alternative colour scheme

ACU is being used by the US Army. The USMC uses MARPAT, which comes in two versions, desert and woodland: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MARPAT

Someone rolled high on a D10

Wouldn't a desire for land be a political consideration though? Politics aren't limited to nation-states, every group of people motivated by a common interest is essentially political. Clausewitz obviously had nation-states in mind when he wrote his famous line, but the real point is that wars...

TAG Humvee, right size for BFE?

TAG are more like 32mm from the bottom of the boot to the top of the helmet - they have rather long necks, I've found. I recall their HMMWV being advertised as 1/56 - it should work well with the BF:EVO infantry but it will look too big compared to BF:EVO vehicles.

    Wave 2 Releases

I think the size demographic of BF:EVO players could make an interesting subject for someone's term paper

    Wave 2 Releases

I guess by now I should know better than to bother you with facts  ;) Ah sod it, we're not going to convince each other - folks can read this and make of it what they will. You're welcome to have the last word if you want it. I'm gonna get back to waiting for Wave 4 pics :D

    Wave 2 Releases

Relax Evil, I'm about 6'1" myself - a fine specimen of the tallest people on the planet :D Yeah, I'm fussing over a couple of mm because that's what makes the difference between "spot on" and "a little bit off", which has been my point all along. Again, whether it bothers you or not is a...

    Wave 2 Releases

That's still assuming a 6' man, which is the whole issue. I did the measurements some time ago on that picture Mat posted of a USMC model with ruler and - after compensating generously for helmet and boots - still made it 29mm toe-to-head. That translates to about 6'3" natural height. I guess I...

    Wave 2 Releases

I'm a bit taller than that, actually - guess that means I'll score all the chicks and lead a disproportionally successful life :D Let me make myself clear one more time - I'm not complaining about the scale. As a manufacturer, at some point you just have to put your foot down and say "sod it...

    Wave 2 Releases

Ah, so it's OK because in 2015, people are all 6'+ tall  Check this out, towards the bottom of the page. You'll notice that male height around the world hovers around 5'8" - 5'9". There are no figures in that for middle-eastern countries (with the exception of Israel, which probably...

    the Little bird

You rang? :D It just so happens I finished them up a couple of days ago when I got some gunners and fifty-cals in: In case you're wondering - the infantry figures are from TAG with Eureka SWAT heads and greenstuffed details (kneepads, goggles). The gunners were ordered separately from...
