Hi all!
Well I just got my order last night of Glorantha books from Mongoose via Amazon.com. I think this is a really cool setting. I know that MG does not have the rights to these books anymore but I ma hoping that some of you have played or use them.
While spending a couple of hours...
Hi all-
I had not been gaming in a few years (with career and family) - well more like 10 so now I am back and I was delighted to see that two of my favorite games (from long ago) are back and being published by one company - who would have thought....
Those two games were RuneQuest (now...
I have a bit of a question that I figured I would see about getting an answer here.
I am developing a Legend campaign based in Thieve's World (by Robert Lynn Asprin) but I am tweating it a bit.
I am working on creating some sorcerous orders - such as The Order of the Blue Star and one of my...
I love the Thieve's World setting - I have read all the books (well the original 12) multiple times each and they are fantastic!!!
I was so dissapointed by the botch of a job that Green Ronin did to the setting (then again anything with D20 as mechanics is going to be terrible in any case)...
I was a late comer to RuneQuest and I stared with RuneQuest II just to play Elric of Melnibone - one of my favorite fantasy stories and character.
I have picked up all the Mongoose Elric stuff - and I have to say I enjoy it much more than Stormbringer and that was a huge favorite of mine.
Now...
I seem to recall (though I cannot find it at present) a citation in the original traveller that stated that each box of a deck plan = 1.4 meters(squared) and that each ton equalled a certain number of squares or that a square equalled an certain number of tons (can't recall directly).
I have...
I think that an untapped resource for gaming material are the Worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs.
The John Carter of Mars series
The Venus series
The Land that Time Forgot series
The Pellucidar series (ie the At The Earth's Core series)
This is all great stuff!!!
Back in 1983 (yes I have been role-playing for that long - and longer!) Victory Games relesase the World of James Bond RPG. It was actually pretty good for the time and though if you were to get a copy of it - most would find it dated as the game is 25 years old. I have taken the time over the...
Okay okay okay...
I guess "hybrid" was not the word I was looking for...
sheesh!! :D
What I meant was something using the Traveller system but with a new setting like Judge Dread and Hammer's Slammers
I will endevour to be much clearer in the future!
LOL
Just wanted to say thanks to Mongoose for bringing this game back and in the way that they did - Traveller has been a favorite of mine since the days of the little black books and where my young junior high classmates
and I thought we had to hi-jack a ship to get one!!!
I am glad that the...
I think that, provided that they could get the licenses, the following would be great for Traveller-ish type games:
Buck Rogers (not the Gil Gerard version) the original
Star Trek (this one would be a stretch...)
Maybe even a Twilight 2000/Traveller hybrid
Just thoughts..
