The company should not have problems releasing SST-EVO before AT-43.

Same amount, if not more, work on models, same amount for rules(they are afterall basicly same...). Don't see where they would save time compared to BF: Evo.

Instead, Mongoose goes with BF-EVO first with a wrong scale of 25/28 mm.

There is no such thing as right or wrong scale. Matter of taste and size of battles you want to represent.

oo what pics are these have i missed somthing again :D

BF forum.first topic, first page(or is it2nd?) the difference between the first images and the ones that are on the website now. it's quite appaling to tell the truth, we can only hope that the ugliness doesn't spill over to the SST(or that they'll fix this till the game premier)

Which looks better?
--> Although the RH minis have better concepts, their miniature counterparts are in no way the same quality and the paint job is bad. It is roumored that this shall improve with the next production run, but I really doubt it. About SST:Evo, I can't say much. But if the Cap troopers and light infantry are good resculped and the paint job is good, they will look better than AT-43.

I very much doubt the SST:EVO miniatures will be better than the AT:43 models if this is anything to go by.

But by the gods I hope these new pictures are some sort of mistake...

just seen them !!!!!!!!!!!!

o'dear !!!!!!!!

so its AT-43 then guys it looks like !!!!

maybe il buy another big box tomorrow of it then, just to clear up the depresion im feeling from seeing the new bf pics :(

There is certainly an error somewhere here, and I have already spent much of the morning trying to track it down. I hope to be able to give you all a full accounting of what has happened, and our planned resolution, as soon as possible. Speaking personally, I don't intend for these models to go on sale.

From Matt

I always thought the original 'production quality examples' were too good to be true. Maybe a factory trying to impress with it's first batch and making promises it couldn't keep?
Well, remember when we waited for LAMI models and the plastics turned out to be a pile of cock?
Mongoose sold excellent metal minis at a loss to make up for it.

So, going by the amount of anticipation we've had for Evo, I reckon a proportional response would be to have each EVO mini hand carved from the horn of a white rhino and painted by the queen :(

Honestly, have you looked at the eyes?
If it was for any other game I'd be laughing.

always been told

if its to good to be true, then it isnt true.

but then my parrents are pesemists.

can we have another update soon mtt please :D

I hope you realize how wrong you are. Words came directly from Matt's mouth. I am not too far off on the scale as well. Let's see how the players will accept the new BF models first.

Gotta be a mistake though.

Give them time to sort it. Problem is, I've boxed up all of my SST stuff in preparation for playing this instead, no point finishing the £100's of unpainted minis we bought when pre-paints are on the horizon.
But now?

Nuts to that Jose! They'll have to pry the paintbrush from my cold, dead hands! And that's the way it's been even before the "prototype" pictures.

I don't think its a mistake really, the technology just doesn't seem to be ready yet, considering both Rackham and Mongoose have failed to raise the bar any further than each other.
They base coats definatly better than hero-clix I suppose.

I haven't given up painting, just now I'm concentrating on really good models. So I'd rather buy pre-paints for the bulk of a force and keep my painting for models I really want to do justice to (only so much time i'm prepared to spend on identical faced cap troopers).
So, no incentive to paint 40 cap troopers or another 60 bugs not when I've got urban war and confrontation stuff sitting there waiting.
Having said that, this latest lot of pre-paints have just deadened my enthusiasm completely.

i love prepaints, evan though im regaded as a painter and a converter, i can now reserve thos skills for special minis or other games i play. less time painting is more time with the gf.

ok so i may miss painting :D

I agree 100%
I like to paint, but I don't like cutting corners or painting minis 'quickly' if you know what I mean. My main issue with SST was getting around to painting the models as I never found them hugely inspiring, but loved the game. Pre-paints would sort this for me, as I could concentrate on those I do like... exo's, overseer etc....
If I've got time to paint, then I want to paint something I can be proud of when I'm finished, I've never been a fan of painting just so I could put models on the board. If someone else is prepared to do an 'acceptable' paintjob for me, then fine. I wouldn't spend my time on it. I don't have that much spare time.
Pre-paints allows me to get hold of gaming pieces without having to invest time in assembly and painting.
I don't have time to paint models to play evo. If they weren't pre-paints, I can't see me (or my group) bothering.

Wow those new pics of the BFE stuff kinda disturbs me. I had some high hopes for this game. O well just means I'll be playing AT-43 instead. Heres hoping Mongoose can get its act together for SST cause I enjoy that game a great deal. On the up side both Rackhams Prepainted minis and Mongooses can easily be touched up in short order. One thing I will give to mongoose is their minis seem to have more dynamic sculpts. Considering that every one of my OD White Stars looks like hes on guard duty.
