It's one reason I'm willing to flush the magazines at the beginning.

Incidentally, the Sword Worlds have a weapon system that reroutes missiles.

I served on a missile cruiser for a few months while in the US Navy. I have always used remote turret controls. Sure, Star Wars style turret gunners are possible, but as the number of turrets increase, you need a Fire Control Center, which allows face to face control by a Fire Control Officer. REALLY needed for Large Bay and Spinal Mount weapons.

Considering the tonnage of spinal mounts and bays, it's unlikely anyone involved has direct contact with the machinery during launch.
