where to find more information on the "orders"?

I was curious about the "order of the white star", but would like to know more about the 3rd Imperium and how the society function like the diferant orders and their functions in the hierarchy? Since the character that I rolled up had a time flux at generation in the scholar book where I am now a spy / scholar stuck in the past about 750ish and trying to survive in the past that he knows...

just looking for background info instead of developing again, assuming that there is some somewhere.

DGP materials are still Canon unless explicitly deCanonized, and the White Star is all DGP.

To answer the original question, the Orders of Knighthood in the Imperium have not had their order of precedence rigorously presented, but you can assume that Imperium-wide Orders rank above Domain Orders, and the relative age of the Orders at least informs precedence otherwise. That is not to say they are, or have always been, that civilized about precedence. Politics in the Imperium remain local without frequent reinforcing.
