I picked up the Glorantha source book this weekend and was reading the section on the inhuman races. Listed are everyone but Ducks which brought up a question; do they exist in the Second Age?
I am quacking very happily indeed........but please make them silly ducks with feathers that kind of quack when they talk......that is the whole point of them

I'm pretty sure the "silly ducks" approach is not a selling point. I run the durulz as just one of the beastmen of Dragon Pass. They are a bit tragic, but they are no joke.

Where I agree that silly is not a good approach for a good and dramatic RPG race (I ABHORE GNOMES). That said, the ducks kinda are...a sad, sardonic and cynical joke played by Glorantha itself, but a joke nonetheless.
I think we left enough of the humour factor with the ducks that certain Glorantha games will be able to happily make them as comical as they want to; but they can equally be a tragically downtrodden race of second class citizens in another person's game.
When the Player's Guide comes out, I think duck fans will be happy for several reasons. Many of which have been stated in these very forums!
