TSR Conan rpg

Hi
Anyone worked up a conversion of d20 Conan over to the old TSR Conan rpg which is such an elegant system and a real whizz to GM. Only let down by a lack of worked up detail i.e. magic. So I would port over D20 Conan magic rules as they do the milieu proud and port over easy.

not sure what you are saying really. :?

I like the TSR system for its fluent design; because it does not require an understanding of feats; its a class less and level less system; characters can have flaws as well as talents; NPCs can be determined very very quickly on the fly if needed; all actions are determined through the resolution table; in otherwords it suits what I want from an Conan RPG more than D20 Conan. However CD20 Conan has done some great work e.g. racial mods, magic sytem, background and adventures etc

As said the magic sysytem is very similar to D20 Conan in terms of its philosophy but never gave lists of spells leaving that to GM.

The rules are available on line stripped of conan reference for licensing reasons.

As I said just curious if anyone else out there had similar thoughts.

It is indeed an excellent system, but I do not see the necessity to port the d20 spells over to it, since TSR Conan's sorcery is designed to closely portray a different style of magic, quite different from the "sorcerous blasts" in d20 Conan.

The old TSR rules are available for free here:

Be sure to check them for some nice inspiration.

There was some really nice ideas in the game but the whole stuff had somewhat an unfinished feel. I liked the idea that stats were determined by skills and not the contrary, as it is in most RPGs. For instance, if you were highly skilled in, let's say, Climbing, Acrobatics and Dodge you'd have a strong Prowess/Agility Stat. Pretty logical to me...

If its the system I recal (and still have somewhere) I really liked the fact that messing with magic corrupted you physically and/or mentally 8)

A friend of mine started making a version which included Elric and the Fighting Fantasy Worlds on the same planet.
