Traveller, TAS, and AI

Didn't say it wasn't, but it is better than no one being fed, as is the case with AI.
Nope. The employees of the A.I. companies are being paid. The people who make the massive server farms required for A.I. are being paid. The people who work at the added electrical generation plants needed to power the huge A.I. servers are being paid. Et al. Econ is a mandatory subject to understand in order to understand the world.

Fewer jobs. You fail the economics. Just like when Biden shut down the pipeline and forced well paid people to get McJobs. AI reduces the number of jobs, making slaves or fodder of the remainder. Supply and demand. Too many job seekers and not enough well paying jobs. And due to competition those well paying jobs can pay less, because someone will take them out of desparation

I don't think he forced anybody to do anything.

There is a genuine problem which needs to be solved by virtue of AI potential eliminating vast swathes of human based jobs entirely, but this is a cost vs. benefit analysis and very mundane jobs are unlikely to benefit sufficiently from AI over human based labour in the short to medium term to make it worthwhile.

In the long term, we will need to look to post-capitalist solutions such as universal basic income. The only way to compete with AI based solutions in creative endeavors is to reduce the cost of human based creativity to next to nothing and empower people to engage in these enterprises without having to worry about the costs of living.

You are correct. He did not force them to do anything other than lose homes they bought based on the upper middle class salary the pipeline was bringing. They chose to get whatever jobs they could in order to feed their families, which brought in nowhere NEAR what they had been making before his disastrous policy decision. (Or maybe it was his handlers decision, since he was incompetent).

Universal basic income is slavery. The government owns you and you do what the government tells you or you lose your support.
Just like when Johnson incentivized single mothers with welfare reforms. They got more money if no man was in the house. Young men were chased out and many turned to gangs for a sense of belonging. The feminists only succeeded in turning poor women into tissue paper. It created generational poverty.

Post capitalism must be a system that raises the standard of living as much as capitalism raised the standard of living. Because NO OTHER system has raised the standard of living more than capitalism, and anyone who says otherwise is ignorant, a liar or both.
That is a bigger issue than throwing other people's money at the problem until you run out of other people's money.

I know you love owning the libs etc etc. But please don't bring your divisive, American politics into our imaginary spaceship game forums. They poison everything they touch.

Ai is all just very complex if-then routines.
Potentially. But A.I. doesn't yet exist. Just VERY primitive expert systems here and there. An example, self driving cars "A.I." cannot even tell if a bridge is out or there is a hole in the road. It will drive into the hole or drive into thin air in the case of the missing bridge. The programs actually have ZERO understanding. None. It takes understanding to be intelligent

I think it's a case of wanting to have the cake and eat it here.

You can't use AI to make money, because copyright and theft, but there are no viable alternatives to a capitalist model because it's the best there has ever been, so we have to accept boom and bust and the death of the job market without any viable solution in sight, because of an unwillingness to accept that this type of innovation could bring about this outcome.

None of this has anything to do with TAS and AI anyways so it's way off the mark to be having this type of discussion in this forum anyways.
