Mongoose
Hey guys

I recently played one of the living traveler games at a small con in derby and i want to run it for my group as i really enjoyed it.

The problem im having is i cant find any appropriate mini's to use and i love mini's :-P

i was just wondering if you guys could recommend somewhere to get a few mini's to represent pc's 3 asari and a few thug's (the shark's)

the adventure im planning to run is Of Dust-spice and Dewclaws. This is my first venture in to dm'ing so wish me luck and if you have any tip's id appreciate them to.Im not going to sign our characters up with mongoose yet as i want to run this purely to see if the other players enjoy the setting as much as i did.

thanks
stef

There is a thread named "Traveller Miniatures", it should be easy to find
with the forum's search. I would add a link to it, but for some strange
reason linking seems not to work.

So far im really struggling to find anything i like/think fits well but im gunna keep looking (it may be im just a little to fussy :-P)

Simon Bell who ran our game (at con quest derby)had some nice minis i need to see if i can find a way to poke him and see where he got his from i think

thanks
stef

One can sometimes be lucky and find some of the original licensed Tra-
veller miniatures on Ebay or similar sources, but you will probably have
to accept the second best option and take some miniatures which only
look somewhat like Traveller minis.

Also try "Sci-fi mini mini's miniatures" on ebay.
I found quite a few miniatures that I use for traveller including star wars, modern looking marines, Starship troopers, etc...
Also list specific minis... "Vargr, Aslan" etc...
I have a nice collection but it took me a while to get them.

GZG's Stargrunt range has a few minis that seem to have been intended to look like Traveller. A.i. there is a range of powered armor figures that could easily pass for Imperial Marines.

Once i eventually (as in once I find a gaming group) set up my merc game, I'm going to use GZG 15mm's as the troops. Cheap and fine :D

I think I got some stargrunts once.
This has been almost 10 years now, but they also used to have "normal" people like technicians and scientists etc... plus some nice vehicle and sci-fi looking boxes, crates, barrels, and other "terrain".

They still have a big bunch of that I think. At least in the 15mm range. They're on a new store, still uploading stuff I believe.

The Ventauran Space Troops minis by Denizen Miniatures make fantastic Zhodani in combat armor/battledress with their bifurcated helmets. They're 25mm and go very well with the Imperial Marines and Traveller Aliens lines by Grenadier.

Also, Noble Knight Games has some of the ship miniatures in stock; specifically, Imperial/Zhodani escort ships and full battle fleets as well as a few merchants and small craft.

For a few PC figures in 15mm, I strongly recommend RAFM's support staff set, on this page:

http://www.rafm.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?

It includes a selection of races. They're called different things, but I'm pretty sure they used to be Traveller figures. 3 Aslan, 2 Droyne, 2 Humans, 2 robots and 2 Vargr. I'm very happy with the set.

I'm thinking of using some GW 40k Imperial Guard models (maybe Space Marines to represent Vacc-suits) and assorted aliens for my Chthonian Stars games myself. I have a friendly local store here, you see.

As soon as I got a deckplan in concrete, I'm putting it to graph paper and I'm pretty much ready to go for games. I think it'll help me and my players to have an actual visual representation of whats happening at a given time.

GW Necromunda figures from the Van Saar gang make the best space suit proxys. I bought so many figures from CBs Infinity game that I just started to play it. Check out the Metros for great Traveller figs as well.

Got any idea for female GW models?

My gf has made a Marine girl character for Cstars, I'm thinking Misato from Evangelion when I picture the char. Unfortunately I'm still waiting on the CSC Ive ordered before assigning gear.

I figured some Sisters of Battle?

No, because they're rubbish :P
Use infinity for everything, mainly because the models are amazing:
The para commando is an awesome fem

Sniper girl, also a ranger :D

There is a fem scout (on the far right of the second pic) who is cool

Line kazaks have a woman model as well.

These models are cheap, well detailed, and look damn good. Also, all those are from jsut one of at least four or five forces. Look how many awesome models there are! :o

The para commando is my fave and most like the look I'd be going after (still have to wait for a char pic from my gf though).

Anyway, thanks Barnest, I might peruse the rest of the site at some point and place an order or two!
