What do you use for storage and transporting your SST minis? I think the MI for the most part could fit in any normal stroage/transport miniature case system but the Bugs and the bigger units would be too big for those. Any suggestions or what you use?

Thanks.

MI is pretty easy, I use foam cases. But for the bugs I have struggled too... I've basicly resorted to big plastic tubs or boxes for the Warrior bugs and plasma bugs, with little bugs running loose in the bottom. but I've had some problems with the more fragile bugs breaking (mainly the tanker), and I've thought of making some foam cases for them just so I don't have to keep pinning and glueing them.

there is a company called figures in cumfort that produce foam trays of all shapes and sizes, with corresponding cases. I use these for my MI

The bugs I carry in a couple of large plastic chests approx 2 ft square
hope this helps

I use 2 multi-layer Ornament Boxes.

Loose small bugs are simply piled into a small cardboard 'cubicle'

Warriors get two layers and are tightly packed enough that they don't slide too too much.

Hoppers and such each get their own cubicle.

I have no read meathod for trnasporting larger bugs though...

I use a standard miniatures case for my skinnies and my MI.

My bugs, on the other hand...

- The Tanker and Blaster bugs ride in an Tangarine crate
- The Plasma bug rides in a bit of bubble wrap
- The Guard Bugs ride in a larger SST box, comeplete with plastic box with a layer of foam at the bottom
- Warrior Bugs, Blist Bugs, Hopper bugs ride in a modified card board box designed for servers. I cut the cardboard top off to allow some flexibility, leaving the foam there intact while scoring the base foam...it fits nicely.

maybe instead of new models, mongoose should invest in the creation of a bug carrier kit...

It would need to be bigger on the inside than it is on the outside

I am glad to see this. I was getting ready to post but I went out of town before I had a chance. I was thinking of using plastic tubs with the foam netting kinda stuff that you put in drawers to keep stuff from sliding.

For my Bugs I use plastic tubs with a layer of that stuffing material they use for plush toys and cheap pillows. Can't remember what it's called, but you can find the stuff in craft stores. The legs sink right into the stuffing and hold the figures pretty secure while driving around.
