I received a hard copy of Supplement 2: Traders and Gunboats in today's morning mails as a post-Boxing Day present, it's arrival was both a pleasant surprise and after an initial browse, sadly a mild disappointment.
Let me first say the newly presented ship designs were brilliant and captured the flavor and spirit of the original Classic Traveller vessels in the various GDW black books, what was truly distressing were the small and frequently near-unreadable accompanying deck plans.
I do understand about the cost of printing as having worked in the publishing field but cannot fathom the decision to have not included a reasonable page allotment for said illustrations which are the bone, and bane, of this technical based tome.
In my opinion, perhaps the inclusion of a standard CD or set of mini-discs to support higher resolution images of the printed book's often lilliputian scaled interior illustrations might have been considered.
My praise and chastising aside, Supplement 2 is a good reference book for any Traveller referee and deserving of it's place along side the original collective Classic Traveller materials.
