The lost tales??? Centauri fighter

Knight of ne

Mongoose
Right this is a question for anybody who has seen or owns TLT.

In the brief fight scene, what is that centauri fighter we see?

I only ask this because it has very straight wings wich compared to the original sentri is different and also just looks much heavier than the sentri.

Thanks,
Ne. :D

Just like the TLT Vorchan case. The question: is it a new class, a variant, or just revised CG model? Only the producers can give us a definite answer.

I think they had lost the original Vorchan / Sentri CGI models.....so rather than use fan created clones they took the opportunity to redesign them from the ground up. So I suppose we should look at these as being next generation Vorchans/Sentris............stats please?

I had not noticed the difference in fighters amucha s the Vorchan - hence mine and Katadders versions in our supplements:)

Whilst i would love to see a new ship - the Centauri already have a wonderful range of fighters including a new state of the art and frankly great Rutarian fighter 8) Still no harm in making on up if people wanted one ?

I wouldn't have been surprised to see a double-cresent centauri fighter - akin to the vorchan's wings - given Vintari's obsession with the Starfury....

I think it's a Sentri. Looks like they took the opportunity to CGI some more detailed Centauri fighters rather than use the stock ones. In fact, that looks like some Really good graphics in there. I'm just not a fan of a single Vorchan taking out a Marathon (or was that a Warlock?) like that...

Hard to tell with it so small and at such a range/angle (especially for someone who hasn't seen TLT and the Warlock before)

Looks pretty much like a Sentri to me, just with improved CGI model, the curvature looks pretty much the same, just looks a bit straighter in the big closeup due to the angle (look at the other fighters in the longer shots for example...).

I'd personally steer clear of making another varient as the centauri already have 3 fighters available to them, and, unlike many other races, all 3 varients are actualy very useful:

Raziks, excellent dofghter, but naff at everything else. A pure fighter interceptor.

Sentris, good dogfighters, but not weak so CAN attack ships (and more importantly act as interceptors (in the game rule sense rather than as fighter interceptors), basically a very good escort fighter).

And Rutarians that are basically the dog's proverbials but cost a fortune.

So really the only gap I can see in the centauri fighter arsenal is in a true bomber that sucks at dogfights and so on but has lots of nasty torpedoes or ion bolty sort of things. And this fighter really doesnt look like it would fill that niche at all sadly :(

But it's stil a moot point since ITS A SMEGGING SENTRI :P

Simply put: Marathon = Not Canon, made up for ACTA, Warlock = Canon (and is seen in Crusade, and besides its a pretty clear picture (and Marathons dont look THAT much like Warlocks, theyre much fatter :P)

As for TLT in general, I liked all of it. The only thing I was somewhat dissapointed in was that the battle sequence was just that clip above. I was hoping that was just a snippet of a much bigger sequence in the actual movie/episode. So for anyone who hasnt seen it yet, dont get your hopes up too high on that front because that youtube clip is the battle in its entirity, all 3 or 4 seconds of it :(.

Oh well hopefully next time there will be more :P

I think it was an Uber-Vorchan, certainly looked like a pretty big ship , no doubt choc full of Drakh goodness, but still vulnerable to being impaled on a GOD beam.
...and by that timeframe..maybe the Warlock is a bit old hat ..... The Warlock class was a radical change in EA ship architecture......naval development tends to see these first of a kind types rapidly surpassed.....i.e HMS Warrior and HMS Dreadnaught............but of course in reality the Warlock model was probably the only EA one that came to hand and the animators wanted to show a scene of intense warfare ....and we certainly got that!

Defineately sentri fighters and vorchans, like the others have said, it seems like an opportunity to upgrade the CGI models. And the EA ships are most certainly warlocks . . . . . . . as for the fight . . . . . well perhaps its a taste of things to come?

:D
