Late May, Early June ...

This is when the German publisher thinks the translation of Mongoose
Traveller will be published.
From my experience with such dates, Late June is far more likely.

So, most probably six or seven weeks from now.

Do I hear you complain about days of waiting ?

Ah well, you lucky ones ...

Bah...read more English! It's good for you! :) just kidding.
Hey we have 7 pages of English reading complaints...can we help it if we want our dang Traveller?
Same goes for that other company that shall remain nameless that puts out Warhammer 40k RPG...

nah they can keep that game as far as im concerned, not my idea of a fun game besides arent ff doin it now?

Thats the unmentionable. I thought that Black Industries were doing a fine job.
Not to mention, my group has always run Traveller campaigns in the far future, not quite 40k but still further in the CT or MT future.

well ff tend to take ages with every game they make so just be lucky that gw sold the rights to anyone is what i say mate :) though they shoulda givent it to green ronin imo since they did such a good job with whfrpg an all.

as for traveller campaigns im goin for something thats a mix of mass effect and firefly with abit of the good stuff from some old scifi setting book i found for alternity.

Oh I totally agree on the green ronin, they actually helped BI with the development of Heresy from my understanding.
As for our current campaign, I am using the same mix...two of our other gm's that run it use/have used a far more advanced/futuristic timeline.
I'm too lazy to do it myself but I would love it if someone did the Traveller version of Mass Effect :)

Ah, that's what I am telling my players over and over again, but they
foolishly insist on being Germans ...

well bioware have said on the official forums that they may be interested in licencing the mass effect universe for other stuff once they finish the next game in the series, so who knows if traveller proves as popular as it should then we could get that book inna couple years :)

OOOOOoooo that is potentially great news :) I left a post for them about Mongoose Traveller a long time ago but I don't know if they ever put any other thought into it.

I found a codex that was put together for all the racial write ups and history...so I may just piece together my own pdf.

Obviously Mongoose should have published it in French first, then we could all feel hard done by

well theyve added to it recently coz of the iminent pc release of the game so theres stuff about the mako and more about the races (including the ones used in the new downloadable content)so u should give the codex another check and add the new info :) dont wanna miss some good stuff for your book eh :)

I got the last copy at Dragon's Lair in Austin, TX, last night. :D

Rules look great! Book looks great! I've skimmed it once rather thoroughly, and now will settle down for a more leisurely read.

Thanks, Mongoose, for taking on Traveller. You have done a wonderful job here!

With Regards,
Flynn

My copy turned up this morning curtesy of Royal Mail. Very nicely and securely boxed. The cover is really nice with a subtle arrow to the classic red line. Binding looks good quality. I like the font and general layout (slightly retro which Traveller justifies). Artwork is fairly poor according to my tastes, except for one artist (the one who did the ship illustrations). But then again, I find very few RPG illustrations worthy. Time to read...

My copy arrived this morning. I thought someone was trying to kick my front door down from the sound of the clatter as the package landed on the floor. I only ordered it at the start of the week!!!

First impressions are very positive. CT with lots of improvements in my opinion.
