The "Its Arrived!" Thread

Still waiting - but since I'm in Israel that isn't unexpected. Even air mail takes significant time to get from the UK to here.

Tell me about it. Here in Oz we'll have to wait even longer <sigh>

I once ordered some T4 books from a guy in Oz (nice chap, he was). At the same time I ordered a couple of GT books from <cough!>abookshopinlondon<cough!>.

The books from Oz arrived within a week.

The GT books took 13 days... :?

I once ordered the Babylon Project core book (the old Babylon 5 RPG) from Amazon.com and it got to me in about 5-6 weeks. Surface mail, I presume?

Being an Australian but living in the UK, I have often posted packages to Australia and received them from the same. Generally it takes no more than 5 days by air mail. Pretty impressive really. In fact, from my experience of the Australian mail service, it is this that is the rate-limiting step, not Royal Mail.

It's a pity Mongoose didn't have the option to pick up the copy in person, as they are no more than 30 minutes drive away from me.

OK, this is how geeky I am over this, I just called my son at home and had him check the mail to see if the book had arrived.

IT HAS ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in Kansas, USA, so if I can get it, everyone else should be getting it today too. I pre-ordered from Mongoose.

I think I feel a fever coming on, I will have to leave work early today.... (Cough cough)...

And as your Boss, I am telling you to get back to work!

Just kidding.

Enjoy the book.

Daniel

Luckily, I AM the boss (at least in this office). MY boss is in another city and on vacation this week!

I started reading it, but got pulled away by RL. Nice book so far though.

I had to force myself not to run into town (25 miles one way) and pick up my book at lunch. I'm going to try really hard to concentrate on work the rest of the afternoon, because I'm not likely to get anything productive done the rest of the week. :D

My copy arrived yesterday and while I havent had any time to look over it the quality is very good.

Well the LFGS in Swindon ordered a few copies that turned up Monday. First thing Tuesday morning he was looking to get some more as he had already sold out!

Five to seven working days, actually, from the US ... maybe a day or so longer from the UK ... compared to, so far, what seems to be 2-3 working days from the UK to the US!

Sure, I've had cases where stuff has arrived, literally, before the date it was postmarked (International Dateline, y'know), so it must've hit every connection *just right* ... 24 hours or so ... but 5-7 days (working days) is more like it.

Really? I've picked up a few things from Mongoose's office before. You could ring them up and ask, the worst that'll happen is they'll say no. That would surpise me, though, as they are decent sorts.
