Waht about a G'Karith mag cruiser variant/ or also a bad idea? it's mroe agile, and has a jump engine....

Was just a thought. Guess I suck at ship designs.

Maybe shoudl get rid of the G'Quan refit as well.
 
If you are looking for an advanced G'Quan then in my opinion you cannot go far wrong with the Katadders, G'Kar Advanced Cruiser found in his excellent "Centauri War" Suplement

(Katadder is the cheque in the post?)

the G'kar was based off the g'vrahn tech a little so obviously it will be losing the interceptors in the next incarnation.

G’Kar Class Advanced Heavy Cruiser Battle
The newest design to roll off the production lines of the Narn Regime the G’kar is to be the replacement for G’quans and their variants. Designed to work closer with ISA forces the G’kar loses the e-mines which are unsuitable for supporting WS attacks but carrys a large advanced mag gun to provide long range firepower. No, not at hte moment. haven;t dotten to that yet. The ISA might or migth not exsit. At the moment, Earth is more isolationist.

And of course always fun to have the raid level Vorchans from either mine or Katadders supplement - if you ask him nicely he may let you have his league fleet lists..............

Obviously it's your ship design so you can do what you want with it, but given the ISD you've given the ship I see no reason why the Narn wouldn't have acquired Interceptor tech from ISA by that time.

Cold wars are ideal times for leaps in technology - you have a reason for a massive military budget, and all of that money can be spent on R&D and building up the fleet as opposed to physically fighting a war and having to replace losses.

still under construction. although did release a work in progress a while back. things may have changed in some of them by now and others are obviously new.

Ships for the Abbai who have build up military and are retreating behidn their defenses.

ships for teh narn adn centauri, who are locked in a cold war.

As the chaos consumed all about them, the Abbai watched in dispair from behind their ramparts of stations and mine fields. Conscious that the storm could crash upon them they continued to preapare to defend themselves and accepted what refuges they could. Occassional Convoys of medical and aid ships made their way from the fortress and they required war ships to safeguard them. Balosian mercenaries formed much of their fighting force, although once they found out the true nature of the Vorlon pawns several brutal encounters occured between Dilgar raiders and Balosian ships nominally under Abbai Command.

Lusara Class Carrier (Lakara Variant) Battle
As fighter technology developed, the Abbia were ever conscious of the disparity behind thier own home spun designs and the rest of the galaxy. They solved the problem with money, employing stalwart Balosian mercanaries in Faloski interceptors and modifying several Lakara to carry and maintain them. Command and Control was also enhanced on these ships to try and co-ordinate with hired Balosian Cruisers.

Falkosi InterceptorsSeveral hunded fighters were sold by the Brakiri to the Abbai to replace their ageing and inadequate Kotha designs. Piloted almost exclusively by Balosian Mercanries, they fulfilled a crucil role until the the Abbai could field their own heavier design.
An Abbai fleet of ISD X- Y may replace Kotha Medium fighters with Falkosi interceptors and can purchase independant Wings of Six flights for a Patrol point.

Masara System Defense Monitor (Lakara Variant)
As the Abbai withdrew into their own space, a considerable number of their Lakara cruiser were modified into system defence monitors. With massive amounts of power needd for a Jump Engine redirected to defensive and offensive systems they were a powerful and deadily vessels for any invader to face. The older Assault Laser was re-introduced and crew levels were also able to be reduced - helping safeguard Abbai lives.

We had a bimith variant a while back...

Drop escort, give it a front and back Gravitic Shifter (they get one already on the big boy, so could reverse it) and a turreted 1 AD combat laser. Creates a nice combat ship that can actually defend fleet elements against big ships by turning them away.

There is also supposed to be a variant of the Lakara that is a carrier... haven't worked out stats for ACtA.

The Timov-class Battlecruiser (War)

The Primus Battlecruiser has been the Cenaturi main line cruiser for eighty years. While a fine ship, The Primus has been slowly suplanted by other races Mainline cruisers During the War of Retribution, the Centauri faced the problem of the Primus class being constantly out range by its Narn Quan. After main hostiles had ceased, Cenaturi designers and engineers address the problem. The other centauri ships available proved not up to the task of replacing the Primus. The Dargan class was an excellent first strike cruiser, but proved to be too fragile in extended battles. The new Liati advance cruiser; while a devastating raider was also too fragile for a long drawn out battle. The Cari refit was excellent solution to Primus problem, but many in Admiralty felt that the refit was too expensive, and that new technologies may prove too much for eighty year old hull design.
Centauri designers drew up planes for a new battle cruiser class

The Timov class address the Admiralty concerns. It utilizes the newly acquired Heavy Neutron Cannon from the Drakh and New fast-loading ballistic torpedo launchers for range. It also possess a smaller version of Gravitic Energy Grid used by New Adira class Battleship and interceptor grid for defense. These influx of cutting edge tech, along with its better mobility gives the Timov the edge over the Narn and other enemies of the Centauri.

With the loss of Earth and the advanced shipbuilding facilities on station Zeus Earth Force experienced a serious lack of warship construction.
While swarms of Myrmidons were enought to deter raids by less then friendly neighbour races, they would be inadequate without support by larger ships.
As one stop gap measure EF pulled many hulls out of mouthballs and testyards to shore up it's navy. Soon reffitted oldtimers like the Epimetheus and the Olympus
once again wandered the space lanes side by side with their more modern successors.

The Epimetheus was extensivly upgraded to modern standards. Plasma Cannons were replaced with more mordern Pulse Cannons and the old Particle Cannon had to make
place for an up to date Laser Cannon
