I might be being a bit blond, but I couldn't find any reference to a limit to the number of Rune Spells a character can learn. Beyond needing the requisite Runes. Am I right in assuming their isn't any?
I don't believe there is a hard limit stated in MRQ.
There is the POW cost for integrating, and then the fact that each runecasting skill is a seperate skill, so mastering many runes is going to be full time job.
Someone with 500 spells isn't all that much more powerful than someone with 50, or even 10 well chosen ones. Meanwhile, they have sunk a hell of alot more skill points into learning the spells.
Nope, I can't find a limit either - and in RQ2 each point of Battle Magic took INT but you could suppress the knowledge of those spells you'd learnt but bring them back into mind later.

I think you meant "the different Runecasting skills" rather than "the spells" but I just thought I'd make it clear as spells can be bought (once you've found someone who will teach it to you, that is).
Even with the lack of INT requirement, the Runecasting skill requirements means Rune Magic is self-limiting. Though someone with the Truth Rune could learn loads of different Detect spells and be quite effective at something...
