Mongoose
I know this has almost certainly been suggested before but since the Licence has gone bye bye from teh makers of the excellent SG-1 roleplay I dont think any company has it, therefore:

1) A skirmish game, SG-Teams, Jaffa/Goauld, Anubis Supersoldiers, Tokra, Wraith, Ori soldiers. Similar sized games to Gangs of MC1. could be superb. More importantly could be a great range of minis :D

2) Fleet combat, Could use similar rules to ACTA or better yet, VAS (from what I know of it). Huamn fleets, Asguard, Wraith, GoaUld/Jaffa, etc etc. It would be great. And again GREAT mini potential.

3) Source books for the RPG or even a whole new RPG (though this wouldnt do as well I suspect as the existing one is very very good, still you could do one for atlantis etc)

Simply put I know the licence would cost alot but Id put good money that you would make your money back tenfold from the legions of stargate fans that would gobble it up :D. Hell Id buy the minis even if the games turned out to be crap but frankly I cant see a stargate skirmish game not kicking ass!

Well the RPG went out of print because Sony wouldn't renew the license, Alderac wanted it.

If Mongoose did get the RPG there'd be a lot of pressure from existing fans of the game to make it compatible, which shouldn't be too difficult given Mongoose's new relationship with Crafty games.

I had already seen that one SQ and its not bad but the trouble is getting minis. There was a range of 'sci fi egyptians' by eureka minis done a while back (of which I do have a few) and they were great but they got stopped due to legal issues (hardly surprising ;)).

I was looking at the Battlefield Evo infantry and it immediately hit me that theyd be great for stargate, but we need Jaffa too :D. And then we need ships :D

I managed to grab a few of those just before they got pulled :)

I've been hanging onto them until I could find some decent figures to use for SGC personnel.... which are now coming in:

:D

(I've said this next bit about a month ago but I'll say it again for anyone that missed it first time around)
I've got some SGA conversions in mind too. SGA uses the marines more often anyway, so I'm looking at some Dark Eldar conversions for Wraith, And Eldar Vypers look perfect for making the cockpit section of a Wraith Dart...

Maybe a Necron Monolith for the basis of a Tel'tak or Al'Kesh...

I've found a possibility for the Stargate and hope to order it in the next week or so, will post details on that if it works out.

Considering my Helm's Deep project is still only about 1/3 done and has been sitting on the table for over two years now, I have no idea when I'll get around to the SG1/SGA stuff. Then again, the reason Helm's Deep has waited so long is because other projects keep bumping it - I can see this doing the same - especially with the BF Evo minis being prepainted so at least a bit of the work is already done for me.

As for rules, the BF Evo rules themselves are pretty much dead on (obviously!), especially as you can nick a few bits and pieces from SST as well. They'll work for anything from a single SG team up to a table full of US military...

I was thinking of posting some stuff up on BFEvo.com once the rules are public, as that's editable by anyone that wants to contribute :)

I've started posting my notes at

http://www.bfevo.com/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=Project%20Stargate

Unfortunately I can't post much in the way of stats or rules until the game goes public, but I have a good amount fleshed out that can go up for discussion as soon as it does :)

Well, with the addition of nifty unit cards and probably without male SG team members registering as being pregnant on the Asgard diagnostic equipment....

I managed to pick up some of the Eureka models before they were pulled, and some of the MOFO ones as well, which was a shame because the MOFO figures were 'series' Jaffa, not movie ones, and weren't quite as tall. The only company that still does figures are Dragons Hoard http://dragonshoard.co.uk/ and the only range they do at the moment is 20mm.

It would be interesting to try the new BF; evo rules for this, I'm currently working on some female Jaffa figures as conversions, but they may only be in scale with the Eureka models, not the BF; evo ones.

Ah, you missed out on Eureka's second series of "Jaffa" then which were series ones then?

Oh, actually not, they were film Jaffa with season 1 helmets. Picked up some of the figs in 15mm as well! 1 of them is a tiny Gen. Hammond!

My bad, the third series then :) The armoured ones with cobra heads...

Of course the wee buggers are impossible to find pictures of now and mine are at home still in their poly bags unpainted :(

I didnt get hodl of the serpent guard ones sadly, though I do have 2 of the Horus ones (the bird headed ones from season 4 and the movie)

Incidentally if anyone has any they would like to sell I would be very interested (depending on price of course) as I a Stargate Roleplay at my local club (its been going for a while now without the minis but they would be great)
