Stargate game?

Well, as the big Stargate-fan I've become this was only a question of time anyways.

I know there's already been a Stargate SG-1 RPG been made, but if memory and sources serve they lost the rights to it.

Anyhow, a Stargate game (minis or RPG) would be cool in my oppinion. There are several home-made sets for this going around the net I'm sure, but an official game with official minins would be so cool!

I'd buy it, but the trouble with an RPG woould eb either keeping the legacy material compatible or decifding not to.

Assuming anyone could get the licence, grapevine suggested Sony/MGM pulled the licence as much as anything else.

Alderac Entertainment Group did a D20 Stagate RPG based on the series and the Spycraft 1.0 game engine. The rights where lost after 5 books (including core rules) when Sony bought MGM and have been unsold ever since.

A Stargate Game would rock. After what MGP have done with Babylon 5 I'd love to see them do a Stargate SG-1 game.

Any chance, Matt, that you might have anything to say to this, and if it was a simple...no way, license fee X is too expensive :)

how about a skirmish based game, where you would choose a faction and develop your elite unit over the course of a campaign. with some experience building and leveling for the characters, traveling through new gates and discovering new technology.

i've only just started to watch the first season but i hear there are a lot of races for a group of players to have a choice from.

i would definitely collect a SG team.

As you know i have already done a Evo, or maybe not, as for a real game, i guess no chance, costs etc...

Private me and i send you the files if you love the Evo system

A Stargate game would definitely get my vote!

A Stargate SG-1 skirmish level game opens a lot of possibilities and uber sci-fi gaming.

Much as it'd be great to see Mongoose get the rights to Stargate (particularly if Crafty Games do the development), there were strong rumours that it was going to Eden Studios.

However, maybe Mongoose's past work on licensed products along with the fact that MGM have worked with the Spycraft team previously might swing it.

That could be a pretty nice, gritty sci-fi setting. None of the jet-setting, ubiquitous huge trading fleets and personal yachts, just a couple of large government ships and lots of small unit action.
