I'm loving the London-Class New Command Cruiser. Tough little ship for 220 with command +1.

I do have a question. Whats does the Enhanced Bridge trait do.? I thinking it is what gives the Command +1. If so when it comes to losing a trait do you cross one or both off it it's chosen.?

the enhanced bridge has to do with crew quality when using the advanced rules for rolling a crew quality for each ship instead of the standard 4. An enhanced bridge means you cant roll lower then a 4.

Cool, thanks.. I must have missed that..

My understanding is that Enhanced Bridge can also protect you against effects that reduce your CQ in-game (such as sitting in a dust cloud.)

From what i have now been reading, it gives you an Unmodifiable CQ of 4.? So on all CQ tests your count as having a 4 even if you have criticals that state otherwise..

I do have another question then. In regaurds to campaign play. How will it affect CQ's that are roll randomly. Does the Enhanced Bridge take "A Ship Of Fools" CQ of 1, and make them Military Trained, CQ of 4.?

Whilst I'll need to dig out my rulebook to be sure of the exact wording, my understand is that Enhanced Bridge works as follows during the game:

Is the crew's CQ currently less than 4? If yes, count the CQ as 4. If no, use the crew's CQ as normal.

Basically, the computer can operate the ship with minimal input at CQ 4. If the crew knows better, they can use their training to make the ship more efficient. If not, the lesser crew uses the point'n'click interface to give basic commands and let the computer worry about the details.

The only critical effect is to give -1 to the crew quality checks, not the crew quality itself, so enhanced bridge won't help there - you are crew quality 4 but with a -1 on the check.

My group plays the advanced bridge (being a trait) always maintains the crew quality at 4 unless your crew quality is higher. Essentially it supersedes critical damage from crew hits etc. until the trait is lost.
To play it any other way doesn't make it much of a trait.

Its more of a campaign trait than a tactical one.....if you use random dice rolls for crew quality then it becomes useful, if you use campaigns where crew quality can be assigned variably again it comes in. Tactically its only going to be relevant when crew quality changes, though it might make sense for it to affect CQ check penalties while in place - might be worth requesting a clarification/errata on purpose from Matt.

I've just double checked the wording for dust clouds. You suffer a -1 penalty to you CQ score, and as such Enhanced Bridge should protect against it.
