Some Questions about fighters

Methos5000

Mongoose
Im still pretty new at this game and we just started using fighters in my group. Almost immediatly some questions were raised.
The Attack Dice listed for a fighter, is the per fighter or per flight? My guess was per flight, but we wanted to be sure.
Also if a larger is ship is splitting up AD of anti-fighter weaponry to attack multiple flights of Minbari Nials(for example) does the ship firing make a stealth check for each flight? Again my guess was yes, but again we just want to be sure.

Thats all I have for now.
Thanks

Cool, and I just thought of another question.

If I recall correctly, when fighters are in base the stealth doesnt apply since they are so close correct? or is that just during dogfights? If it is the former is stealth negated when fighers are in base to base with bigger ships then too? or does it only apply to other fighters?

ah that helps out, thanks. Does anyone know if those stealth rules apply to the revised core rules or are they introduced in SFOS or Armageddon?
I ask because I only have the revised core rules right now so if its not in there I will have nothing to point out to my group.

ah okay well 1" is better than nothing with as bad as I roll trying to overcome stealth. Looks like I will have to buy SFOS and Armageddon soon. Thanks for your help.

I knew I was forgetting something. When a hit lands and a fighter is destroyed is that per fighter or is it again per flight? My guess is per flight but I would like some clarification.

Thanks

A Flight of fighters is treated as a single entity for all purposes - attacks, damage, etc. The fact that there are 6 fighters on the base is purely cosmetic.

And, yes, fighters ignore Stealth within 1" - but only Fighters!

Only fighters attacking capital ships, right?

Eg. a Vorlon fighter trying to snipe down a Nial, getting within 1" but not into dogfight, would still need a stealth roll. It would get the +1 for within 8" of course and another +1 for being Vorlon...

Actually, I belive it only says they ignore Stealth within 1". So a fighter could ignore a Nial's Stealth as well! I'd check on that one though, I'm not sure...

Assuming I'm wrong about ignoring fighter Stealth, that's right.

I thought the vorlons/ shadows drop the stealth roll by 1 in sfos but not suer in armageddon

I thought of another fighter question and maybe it is explained better in the expansions but I couldnt find anything in the revised core rules.
When do fighters launch? Before the nominated ship moves? After the nominated ship moves? Before all ships move? or After all ships move?

its worthwhile to note that placing the fighter at the base of the ship, when launched, counts as it's move for the turn.
*edit*
and, that you can't launch fighters while using a special action, with the exception of "Scramble Scramble!" a new special action, added in Sky Full of Stars.

That happens to me regularly, i've read the book about a million times now and i still forget things, mostly special action requirements :D
