Sleeping in Light live battle reports

Through the power of technology, I figured I'd write my battle reports whilst they're still fresh in my mind.

So...

Game 1 - Space Superiority vs LBH's ISA. 3 Shadow Scouts vs 3 White Star IIs.

There was one planet in a corner which the Shadows claimed for their deployment zone.

Turn 1 consisted of some posing - both sides rushed each other but there was in fact no shooting.

In turn 2, the Shadow agility and massive initiative advantage began to tell. One Scout offered itself as a target, whilst the other two jumped the nearest White Star and battered it to within an inch of it's life. The next turn, the crippled White Star was finished off and two Scouts picked a new target to beat up. Turn 4 was an exact repeat, and turn 5 saw the last White Star gone.

At this point, it was three flights of Nials vs three Scouts. Rather than spend the remaining turns chasing cowardly Scottish fighters in a vain attempt to reinforce, we called it there.

Result: Win for Chaos, 60 - 0 on VPs.

Before this game I had never killed a White Star in 18 months of trying. It's like buses - you wait a year and a half to kill one, and then you vape three in one go!

Let's see if this continues...

Okay, now I am scratching my head, trying to work out how you did that :)

The first round was a tragedy for the forces of Order, with Epsilon Eridani falling under their advance as they won seven battles out of eight! Only Ben Allen held the line for Order, despite my threats and promises to the rest of the team that I was rooting for them!

Second round has just started, with a disabled ship from the forces of Order being the subject of a Rescue mission. A two point Raid battle, we are slowly building up the pace of this final war. . .

2 pt raid game - hmm hopefully "our" Ben will get to fight the Minbari. :)

hope the fortunes of war continue to favour Chaos :D

That should be "interesting" ..................

probably come down to if the Shadow stealth holds or any massive beam hits...............

or which refits their ships got - Maternal may have been useful if the Vorlons don't have any fighters.

First news from Round 2. . . anorther victory for Chaos! Paul Eyles Drakh defeated Marc Taylor's Minbari in record time.

Wow quick - so where is going to help? - get them Vorlons I say................

Looks like the Drakh cruiser is going to gatecrash Lee Upton's (Low Roller's) game. His Vorlons are currently skulking in a dust cloud and asteroid patch, hiding from Vree bombardment. I think the Drakh will smoke them out!

Poor Lee - I recall in ECW when Katadder Jumped his Adira into the fight against him and turned the game completely.

Okay, Round Two is over.

While there were some very heroic efforts on the side of Order (notably Lee Upton holding off against a Drakh reinforcement, and Greg Smith holding off - and winning! - against two Battle level reinforcements), it has still been another trouncing, and Centauri Prime is now firmly in the hands of Chaos.

Just Deneb separates Chaos from the Vorlon Homeworld, though I have a feeling the next round of battles may not go Chaos' way. . .

Game 2 Rescue vs other Ben. Shadow Stalker vs 12 flights of Vorlon Fighters & 2 Vorlon Transports

This turned into a very tactical game very quickly. The Stalker kept moving, ducking lines of sight and generally being very evasive. I'll refrain from commenting on my opponent, other than to say he lived up to his billing...

It was turn 8 before the Stalker was in any difficulty, having been without weapons for half the game but still killed 4 flights of fighters. Of course, superb maneouvrability meant the Stalker jumped to one side to regenerate whilst Ken dropped in a Vree torpedo saucer and Neko landed a Psi Corps mothership. Teddy left the pram shortly after - Vorlon ships were removed from the table, the rules be damned, and the Stalker moved away to reinforce the forces of Chaos who were all reinforcing Triggy against Greg, who still won...

The Stalker is now Aggressive and Evasive, so should have some fun in the next game!

So far Chaos is carrying out a proper reaming of Order. As it should be... ;o)

Sounds great

Did the new Anti fighter beam help at all

5+ dodge - mmm nice :)

So Ken's ISA is on the side of Right and Darkness then ?

Okay, Round 3 has just started, and now the curve balls are starting to appear.

Everyone's favourite mission - Convoy Duty!

The current trailing team (Order) pick their highest PL ship - it is knackered, no weapons, no Special Actions, but defences are up - to act as the escorted ship. They get 5 FAPs at Skirmish level.

The attackers (Chaos) get just 3!

On the face of it, a foregone conclusion for Order, perhaps - but I'm waiting to see which Chaos players pay proper attention to the mission objectives. If they do it right, we should see some very quick games. If not, Chaos may be due a real hammering.

FYI, loyal readers, Mr Sprange was not joking when he said Chaos was in trouble.

I have a Shadow Scout, vs a Gain assault ship, three gunships and loads of fighters, whilst trying to destroy a war level queen ship.

This does not look good...

Gentle Readers: Kudos if he succeeds, but you will note this is _not_ the mission's objective!

Given that a Gaim Queen has about 75 damage, is Hull 6 and also has 6 interceptors - I don't think it is possible for you to kill that Ship!!

What is the objective - I am intrigued!? :D

any chance of posting the mission description ?
