The Warmonger-Class Battle Tender

I bet the Navy has their version of the programs to load. That won’t be an expense they have to worry about.
If it is like our "modern" Navy, they pay even more for those programs.
The navy spent a boatload on a focus group to develop a library inventory program for Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activities.
When they came to install it at ours, they were pissed that my homebrew DBase 4 code had more features than theirs. We LOST functionality to conform.

Terry Mixon, I'm trying to figure out how you got the number of sensor ops for your Hadrian Class Battle-Rider (I'm looking at the stripped down version). I am keep getting a different number. I am getting 9 (50 000 / 7500 (rounded down) * 3 (since it's a military vessel)*0.5 (size efficiency which is optional)) and if we add your extra sensor ops stations we get a total of 14.

The crew calculations come from the spreadsheet. If @Arkathan changes that (he's the one that keeps it) I'll update my numbers.

Well, that's depressing.

To be fair, my code interfaced directly with the tech manual and blueprint ordering system, bypassing the normal interface, and allowed me to casrep training manuals. So probably better that we lost THAT capability, just on postage.
The command DID have a lot of well trained people, though. No one had any excuse for not taking advancement exams.

Arkathan, I always get that part wrong, round up it is. That means the standard bridge of the Hadrian can hold between 11 - 22 sensor ops which means it doesn't need the extra sensor stations.

Edit: Also my understanding of the sensor stations (which admittedly may be wrong) is that it is only for ships of 7500 tons or smaller.

The most recent files.

The Warmonger can carry 16 Hadrian-Class Battle Riders, 50 Crossbow-Class Battle Riders, or a mixture of the two. A split of 8 Hadrians and 25 Crossbows balances out nicely. It also carries 40 400-ton Wasp Gunboats (inspired by the Fiery-Class Gunships) for protection.

The Hadrian has been reworked, so it is a lot tougher and not the default one in High Guard 2022 Update. This one has a meson cannon and more weapons. I added Marines to the battle riders and a means to deploy them as well.

Updates uploaded.

I decided I wanted more computer power on the Wasp to run lots of things at once, but that is an easy change for those wanting less cost.

Reading one of the other threads--looking at you @MasterGwydion--it occurs to me the Warmonger would make a great logistics ship, too. Load 16 50,000-ton cargo/fuel pods (BCr2.5 each) and go. Drop them off and get out of dodge. Boom! 800,000 tons of supplies delivered without needing a dedicated logistics ship.

Arkathan will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that since the Wasp is below 7500 tons it needs the addition 2 sensor stations. It is capital ships bridges above 7500 tons that are assumed to have the extra sensor stations already installed.

The crew numbers on a military ship reflect some redundancy. If I add two sensor stations, the crew requirement for sensor operators jumps from 3 to 9. Is that what you were referencing?

Military ships run continual shifts. Civilian ships wake someone up when they are needed.
If the intent is to have more than one sensor action per turn, then more sensops are needed, otherwise the three take turns on the one effective station.

I totally agree! Extremely versatile ship design! Nice job!

The sensor reporting on the spreadsheet was geared towards adventure class ships.
I just fixed it to reflect cap ships today after it was pointed out. Now you can see what you are getting in the Sensor tab.
Previously, the only way to get additional actions to display was the extra station.
I left them accessible for all ships as an option for someone wanting to create an unofficial dedicated intelligence ship.

That's a good idea. The spooks need extra sensor stations.

In doing that, the GM is going to have to rule for the available sensor actions, or include them in the record sheet description section/cap ship SSD notes section because the calculations to get that right get weird, when the goal is to make it display as close to official as we can.

Thanks Arkathan. I figured as much after I posted. High Guard doesn't talk about shifts under the determine crew stage. It is only when you read about officers in crew roles that it mentions them.
