Ship Hulls For Tanks - Pocket Empire - Arguing W/The Foolish

YES, I have a police officer with me in every situation I can reasonably be assaulted:

+ My job is just over the road from the main police office

+ There are three police officers living in the same road I do

+ The police office in my hometown is one minute by foot away from my home

+ There are always police officers (plain cloth and uniformed) around in the mall(s) I use to shop

+ My shooting club is the local Polizeisportverein (Police sport club)

So for all practical purposes I DO have police protection 24/7

Fiar enough. You have to admit that that isn't a normal situation, though.
Germany as a whole comes out with a violent crime rate of 0.86 murders per hundred thousand people per year. Which is very good, but hardly zero.

If you look at the posts, no one claimed that, and there are of course mur-
ders. Where I live, almost all murder cases are domestic violence (child
abuse / neglect, husband kills wife, son kills father ...), violence within an
ethnic minority (Russian youths are often quick to draw a knife if the ar-
gument is about a girl) or violence within the criminal "milieu" (drug dea-
lers, pimps ...). The chance that someone is assaulted in the street, how-
ever, is extremely negligible, at least where I live (a city with 250,000 in-
habitants, no rural area).

I just looked up the numbers. Our regional police headquarters is respon-
sible for a region with ca. 855,000 inhabitants, including one major city,
several small towns and the rural area in between. In 2009, the last year
where analyzed data are available, there were 21 murder cases (which in-
cludes attempted murder) in this region, and 100 % of those cases were
solved. In 2008 and 2009 there was not a single case where a gun was
used in such a crime, and the cases of 2009 fit into the pattern mentioned
above, with domestic violence at the top.

By the way, looking at the statistics I just learned that gun use is more
common in rural areas, and that the average victim is a traffic sign.

We seem to have a high number of frustrated hunters aiming for easy
targets.

Gentlemen, perhaps you could continue this "No, you did not" versus
"Yes, I did" game per PM ?

As for the usefulness of certain Yes / No questions in certain situations,
you could try "Do you still beat your wife each day ?" for a change.

One could IF, the question had been a self incriminating type. Since it wasn't, that suggestion is nonsensical.

That's my point, it is just as nonsensical as this "No, you did not" - "Yes,
I did" torture of poor helpless innocent electrons. 8)

Umm, you didn't understand what I wrote.

Of course I did, but since the more recent parts of this thread are obvious-
ly following the rule that posters have to misunderstand each other, I de-
cided to comply, too.

.

Since I was the the original person who started this thread I feel I have the right to make this observation:

1. I really do not mind a thread going off topic, or even GOING TO PROXIMA CETAURI as this one has, since the origional topic was addressed to some degree at the start. I even altered the threads title to reflect the new direction the thread had taken.

2. Some people enjoy drawing attention to themselves by hijacking other peoples threads (Rarely if ever starting one of their own). Calling them a 'hijacker' would be an understatement, 'Forum Terrorist' would be a better suited name.

3. They are intelligent, but have their ego entangled to their intelect in such a fashion that they are often OBSTENATE TO THE POINT OF STUPIDITY.

I have decided not to reply to posts in this forum that degrade into silly (i.e. stupid) arguments, that are usually the result of one side holding fast to an obstenate point of view. (unless of course it provides for me sufficient 'entertainment value')

It is my hope that others will do the same.
