Shadow Fighters - Just why

I'm not even sure about this ... can it be clearly be seen / is it said in the show that Shadow fighters have any kind of shield defence :?:

No.

The shields represent the Shadow ships' ability to absorb and disipate damage.

We are all agreed (except for one person of those who have posted) I think the Shadow fighter needs help -

How to make it like the show and playable is the question. Many people are now house ruling it or making up stuff  and there is another useful thread as to the best way to do this.

I suppose the thread has actually been answered in some ways ie Just why it is so bad in both S+P and near the start of this thread. I dont agree but hey...........

Sadly it seems that the Shadows are supposed to loose at low levels, same as the Raiders are supposed to loose full stop.

strange that the Vorlons were fixed so that they have a good fighter and Skirmish (but no raid  ) and the Shadows were ignored in this area :? The justification does not really make sense then.[/i]

Loose? :P

Shadows aren't designed to lose at low PLs, they are only designed to have fewer choices at low PLs. In an ideal world, the Shadow Fighter would be worth taking and the Shadows may even have a capital ship option for Skirmish/Patrol PL.

@ Greg
Thanks for the fast answer !

@ Triggy
Maybe they aren't designed to lose ( or be loose  ) but - as you mentioned - they are designed to have only few options at low level games which will result in no real option for using the breakdown which will result in other problems.

I don't have the series set to watch, so just episode name can be hard. Can you describe the scene a bit where we see the G'Quan demonstrating tons of pulse. The only one I was aware of is a single G'Quan fireing at what appears to be a pair of fighters, it fires a rear pulse guns where we do not see the mount, and a forward pulse canon mounted on top of the central core in front of but below the bridge wing. I would hardly call that tons of Pulse.

If I'm wrong and we see a large number of mounts firing at any point I'll be happy to retract, I just don't remember any. In particular I don't remember them ever firing pulse weapons at a ship, only the small fighters types. So it didn't strike me as a major weapon.

The episode is the end of season 2, when a damaged G'quan comes to the station and Sheridan has it hide behind Epsilon 3. The Centauri learn of its presence via Nightwatch and send a Primus (Secondus). Sheridan has the G'Quan flee to the jump gate before it's repair are complete, escorted by starfuries. The Primus opens fire on both the G'Quan and the station. The G'Quan fires back with pulse fire.

The scenario based on this episode in the ACTA rulebook has the G'Quan's laser disabled because it doesn't use it in this episode.

I remember B5 firing on the Primus but I don't recall the G'Quan firing at all. Nor do I remember her taking any hits from the Primus' fire, the only shots I recall going anywhere near sail past into space, except one pulse that hits a Starfury...

I'll have to see if I can find that scene, as I really don't remember it. I thought the damage G'Quan just limped off. Hmm...well thank you very much anyway, I guess I am wrong then in regards to the pulse. I was quite sure we only ever saw the two systems, the rear 'af' looking turret and the twin system on the deck, that looked a lot like the heavy plasma weapon or a big pulse system like B5 had after the weapon upgrade.
