Roll20 Compendium

Hi Jongar,

Great idea. For campaigns, of which currently Mysteries of the Ancients is the first just released, they have marketplace add-ons which add map pages, NPCs, tokens and handouts (‘Library Data’) to add into your game, all segregated under campaign name folders. The free Starter Set does the same for the Death Station and Stranded adventures (and also includes the Explorer Edition free Traveller rules in handout form).

But your point about the spacecraft from both the Core Rulebook and High Guard is an excellent one and I will look into that. There are many spacecraft to transcribe into character sheet format…

As I noted in one of the threads, the Ship section of the character sheet is OK, but I think not as comprehensive as it needs to be to support spacecraft combat, which is on my radar (lidar, long range sensors ;-) to look into…

As sole compendium creator I’m currently prioritising reacting to any fallout from the recent releases of the first five books (CR, HG, CSC, MotA and Spinward Extents). This has so far been minimal which is a relief!

FYI, Traveller Companion should be released this week or early next week, there’s a character sheet release in the works, fairly minor cosmetic changes to some text widths, translations, delete buttons for weapons, armour and equipment etc.

Best regards,

~ Coryphon ~

Just want to say thanks for all the hard work Coryphon for bringing Traveller to roll20, kind of hoping you get an advanced copy of Singularity so it will appear in Roll20 quickly, before I go through and manually add everything that I did for Mystery, Secret, and Wrath for my current campaign.

Thank you, you’re very welcome!

Yes, I think I’ll be doing Singularity, hopefully as you say with an advance copy ;-)

Traveller Companion should release end of this week, then on to SotA and WotA to complete the Ancients Campaign ;-)

I had picked up the free starter pack and now that I grabbed the core rules as well, it looks like there is duplication. If I'd known that I wouldn't have gotten the start pack since it seems to also be part of the core rules.

Hi Terry,

Ah damn, sorry for the inconvenience. I don't *exactly* know how Roll20 package these things up, its all the string and glue on their side once I submit the various files and pages...

It looks like the Core Rulebook token pack has been included as you say in the Starter Set, which is obviously incorrect. I'll raise it ASAP with Roll20 so they can investigate next week...

Unfortunately that doesn't help you now they are there :-(

No worries. It’s a minor thing. Maybe it will go away once they fix it. I’ll adjust either way.

When looking at my new purchases on Roll20, I was surprised to see that the Spinward Extents didn’t have the sector/subsector maps as art that could be loaded. Perhaps I somehow missed them?

Hi Terry,

I will look into that for you. I have a horrible feeling I didn’t do an add-on for that. Leave it with me and I’ll get onto it tomorrow… I need to check with Roll20 how I should do it…

Ran into an error dragging and dropping electronic binoculars into the equipment part of the character sheet.

Hi Terry,

Ok, I think this is because you've dragged a Rules page into the drop target. The drag and drop items have their own category: Weapons, Armour, Equipment, Animals, Vehicles etc.

So when you see this in your search:

You can only drag and drop what is under the 'Equipment' category...

The Compendium search will bring back any pages that have the search term in any header fields in the web page, hence the results from the 'Rules' category...

Thanks. I appreciate it.
Hi Terry,

OK, this (Spinward Extent Art Pack with Sector/Subsector Maps) has been submitted to Roll20 as an Art Pack, they will amend the listing I guess in the next day or so and ensure purchasers get an updated version, which should then appear in your game... I'll post on here when they let me know and you can test and let me know any issues,

I’ll look at it again this evening and see if I can make sense of it. I’m new to this so apologies for my blunders.

No worries :-) This is all new to me too; I've structured things kind of how I think they make sense, but Roll20's kinda quirky on a lot of stuff, so all a learning process!

Hi Terry,

Roll20 tell me the Spinward Extents art pack of sector/subsector maps is now available and purchasers have been updated…

Dragging the subsector and sector images out to the map makes them a single square. I can change the dimensions, but it would be helpful to know what they are supposed to be, so I get them right. Or better yet, having Roll20 assign them the right size without messing with them.

Ummm are you setting the Layer to ‘Map’? Any image dropped on the ‘Token’ layer will default to a single square…

Dropping on the ‘Map’ layer should make them appear as their ‘real’ size and aspect ratio… (AFAIK)

When I drag a subsector map onto the grid, I get this:

If I select adjust page size, it goes to one square. If I fit to page, it distorts the image and fills the entire square map, aspect ratio be damned.

I'll admit that I'm new to doing this so I could be making a simple mistake of some kind.

Ok, thank you for checking that. I’m not sure what’s happening. I’ll raise it with Roll20.

The subsector maps are 1000x1250 so something like a page size of 20 wide by 25 high would keep the correct proportions…

The two sector maps are 2000x~2860 so a page size of either 20x29 or 40x58 should be correct, obviously they’re very detailed so a larger page size may be better…

Again, my apologies…

One final test, if you select a dropped-in image on a page (regardless of size) and hit Z, it should popup an image preview, does that look ok, or distorted?

Cheers,
~ Coryphon ~
