Question on Hawkmoon

The King

Cosmic Mongoose
Now that this is no more a secret, I'd like to know what treatment is scheduled for Hawkmoon; i.e. a full line with sourcebooks, scenarios and campaigns or just some books as for the Lankhmar setting?

it seems the general approach for smaller settings is going to be something like a main book, some adventurers or a campaign, and one or two source books. Sounds good to me, really :)

Three books:
Hawkmoon (main rulebook)
Granbretan (sourcebook)
and an adventure.
That is good and bad news altogether.
Good news because Hawkmoon always needed some books to balance for the favoured developpement of Stormbringer.
Bad news because it only concerned few books, though I guess it will all depends on the sales.

Does the Stormbringer line follow the same approach?

I noticed that the adventure "The Soothsayer's Lament" has been removed from Mongoose's page...that can't bode well for a release of Hawkmoon any time soon. I don't want a rushed job or anything but I hope this comes out soon. I really want to run the game but I need a good setting and I don't have time to work on my own. Hope we hear something official soon regarding a release date!

Ah! Now Hunters of Granbretan is listed on the main site and The Soothsayer's Lament has vanished. I suspect the Lords of Entropy have a hand in this...
You should be pleased then, shouldn't you?

Not positive when Hawkmoon is coming out.

Yes, Elric is in the works also. At some point after Hawkmoon it seems.

There is a Hunters of Granbretan on the release list for April but I doubt that is going to happen. There was an earlier Hawkmoon scenario listed for March that went away. I expect a sourcebook will precede any scenarios (one would hope at least).

There was probably some issue as I think DBC had to write some of these books.

If I recall right DBC was doing Elric (and I was very much looking forward to that) and Mongoose Gar aka Gareth Hanrahan is the Hawkmoon dude.

So the Elric line is almost definately held up by Aaron leaving but Hawkmoon should not be.

Actually, Hunters of Granbretan was mine. It has been done for a long while, but it was a small scenario and the Hawkmoon book I'm guessing is taking longer in the back-end of layout and stuff. *shrug*

I highly doubt that Hunters will come out before Hawkmoon, but that is something that is decided higher up the food chain than I am. :)

Cheers,
Bry

Considering that Hawkmoon, Corum and Elric are all part of the Eternal Champion cycle, and that they are being written up to use MRQ, I would suspect that the rules between them would be practically the same. So the loss of a writer or two might not make much of a difference, rules wise. Differ3ences in the background text, certainly, but I think we will see the same game mechanics.
