question about the factions

i was thinking about this yesterday and decided to see what others thought about it
BF:Evo starts out with four factions in Jan. later on down the road new factions will appear (such as the US Army). will the new factions replace the older factions or put the older factions on the backburner so to speak when it comes to new releases.

and a slightly more specific question for the US Army
will BF Evo have 2 American factions when the US Army is released or will the US Army and USMC combine to form one American faction

Who ever said the US army and Marines would be different armies?

i would presume that the USMC and USarmy will operate much like the EFTF, you'll be able to mix and match units as you like into one force.

eg
1 british squad and challenger 2, a german squad with air support and a french catering unit as your force

a US army rangers squad backed up by 2 Marine expeditionary squads and an apache.

or just concentrate on one part of the faction eg wholly brit or wholly USMC

well thats how i see it any way.

Sub-Factions, Marine. Sub-Factions. Technically the US Faction was origionally the United States Expeditionary Force, USXT.

Think of it this way:

USXF:
-USMC
-USArmy
-USAF-SF

EFTF:
-British Army
-French Foriegn Legion
-German Army (so tempted to type Heer)

I'm sure that the foreign legion would be present but only a a troop choice for the french armed forces in general and not as an entire army.

Well, the Faction is concidered the army, the units serving underneath coming from different groups like the French Foriegn Legion or the British Paras.

no what i meant was the foreign legion is not the be all and end all of the french army, it's just a corps like the Royal artillery is a regiment / corps of the british army.

so what i was meaning is the foreign legion would be a playable as a choice from the french army. not like how the brit and german armie's are if you know what i mean.

from what I've heard, USXF is scrapped for now in favor of separate army lists. Not sure how it'll pan out in the future, but we'll see. I'm still hoping for Air Force components, including ground forces

That's pretty foolish, Shotgun.. The US is known for joint operations and combined weapons theories.
