Question about Crippled status

Crippled ships have their Turn Scores doubled. In addition, they cannot move more than 6" per game turn. AND, you cannot use movement from a prior game turn to satisfy the turn score.

SO... Klingon ship with Turn Score of 4 is Crippled, so now it's TS is 8. But it can only move 6" per game turn. Does this mean it can't turn unless it remains stationary??

Makes it a bit tough to retire the ship doesn't it! No going to maximum warp and no turning. Fortunately it doesn't affect how fast you can go backwards!

To me this doesn't make sense, and as a long time SFB/FC player, I don't think it doesn't fit the basic STU model. I will consider a house rule that expands the rule about stationary ships being allowed to turn 45 to also allow any ship that moves any distance without turning a 45 turn at the end of it's move. This better reflects the improved turn rates of slow moving ships in SFB/FC, imho.

As a gamer you can houserule aything you like to give a better representation of the game as you see it. I can't see the Rules Police beaming into your games area any time soon. :)
