Question about a couple of new books vs old books

I'm planning to get the High Guard and Central Supply Catalog books, but I'm debating between the newest version and the older, black book version. I'd appreciate it if someone would tell me about the differences between the versions.

I would beg you to get the latest ones - they are bigger, more beautiful, better written, tighter rules... really, they are just better in every way...

I'm leaning toward the new books, largely because I do like the art style and general feel of the new edition.

Also, I just wanted to say that it's really cool to see the founder of a company so involved in discussion with fans and customers on the forums like you are, Matt. I can only speak for myself, but that kind of interaction goes a long way for me.

The LBBs are MUCH simpler in content and mechanics. I have all editions but GURPS so I know what's there. I own the MgT books because they really add to the game in many ways. Even the core book alone has a plethora of good materials to start.
