Progress on 2e

Sounds good. I'd like to see EA being the only fleet with intercepters, at least in any real numbers. Too bad they cant show the differences between MK1's and MK 4 intercepters though, other then just sheer numbers. Maybe make it so EA ships with MK 4 Int's can break them up the way you can with space stations, so you dont have to use them all up with the first thing that shoots at you.

or the mk 4s could use 2 dice targeting a 6 afer they are depleted instead of just 1

how about a rule like 'Hyperspace Expertiese' Which allows all Vorlon ships to act normally on the turn they arrive from hyperspace even if they dont have advanced jumpoint, thus allowing their fighters to act normally through other ships points but not jump in themselves so no JP bombing?

AJPL = Advanced Jump Point Lite!

I think the Raiders should be able to obtain old ships or buy low level ships from other races. I would like to see rules on how raiders could obtain these ships or have Raider variants provided. This would keep the Radiers a low priority fleet with the occasional battle level ship.

erm have you actually read the raider list rules? :P

They already CAN use up to 1 FAP of League ships and can be used as part of a combined league fleet too so what your suggesting is ,in fact, already an existing rule. :)

NO, It actually limits the number of ships that can be added. I think that the Raiders should be able field a fleet that is a mix of ships from most of the younger races, but it should be limited to the older ships. The EA would not give a Raider an Omega, but an aging Orestes that due to be scrapped can be resurrected and refitted by a Raider group. There are also the discontinued ships that can be redeployed to Raiders who are allies of the EA. The more business minded races might just sell lower level ships to the Raiders, like the Brakiri and the Vree. Also, note that the Abbai use mercenaries and would have the resources to procure certain ships from the other races for their mercs. Having a more detailed Raider list, using ships from other races, would make the Raiders a more viable faction, than just letting the group allocate 1FAP.

I too would like to see an expanded list for the raiders, and see raider variants of various ships. As they a such a diverse bunch , they in turn should have a diverse amount of ships available to them.

I Second that! :D

But I'm showing this by converting older/damaged ships into raider ships. I just converted a Hyperion into a Battlewagon & am working on converting a slightly miscast Omega into a Raider Nova.

That´s always the best solution when dealing with something that´s not there - being creative with what is. (I for my part will use the Shadow Hunter stats to represent War-level Shadow Ships; in my book the Hunter isn´t a real Shadow vessel anyway...)

I am a bit confused by this, in the series we only see major firepower from the fore arc - for instance the Hyperion had to turn to face the foe in "Voice in the Wilderness" to bring its main batteries to into the fight; plus the Omega and Warlock are both designed with their heaviest weapons forward (H Laser and pulse batteries for the Omega and missile batteries, particle cannon etc for the Warlock). Unless you are going for a redesign I do not see where the broadside element comes in for these ships, which are arguably the most identified with the EF Fleet.

Laser armed EA ships still hit extremely hard forwards but where in the past if you flanked them they were toast now they have a better chance, they are more like floating fortresses

The Ion cannon thing I'm iffy on, but that's more because I'm an old B5 wars fan and Centauri have always had lasers and so did the Dilgar. .....

The lasers are still there, just that no longer can Centauri sweep the board clear with the "beam-team", the secondary ion cannons are much more important now

2007! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

(seriously I have no idea but Im hoping late summer/early autumn. The sooner the better but Mongoose, please take all the time you need to get it done properly (and PROOFREAD ;))

All I have to say is that Mongoose shouldn't bring it out until it's done. I want a complete product that's done right and doesn't need errata 1 second later when someone points out that an ubership has become even more uber.

So it's better to bring it out late and finished rather than early and broken. We'll appreciate it more.
