Progress on 2e

My point about Sinclair referred to season 3, where the whitestars were still seen crewed and operated by Minbari, not the Drakh battle - Kat's reply was nonspecific as to when he meant out of the two timeframes I mentioned.

The first time we see the ship, she's even referred to as 'a Minbari vessel'.

how about a rule like 'Hyperspace Expertiese' Which allows all Vorlon ships to act normally on the turn they arrive from hyperspace even if they dont have advanced jumpoint, thus allowing their fighters to act normally through other ships points but not jump in themselves so no JP bombing?
Wht make a new rule when the current rules already work? Give it the AJP trait. The list of special actions fighters can perform does not include Initiate Jump Point, so the current rules don't allow them to JP-bomb.

No point in adding another special rule, just give them AJP and it does the same thing (except, I suppose, for the ship opening the JP for the fighters).

Throughout this year, you will see many of the new ships I have mentioned available, with current edition stats in S&P. The idea is that you will have access to all the new ships when the fleet lists come out.

Everything sound great so far, but THIS has to be my favourite point! :D Oh, and thanks for the Shadows rework; I just received my fleet box today and would love to see a more playable (at "lower" levels) fleetlist for them (ok, it´s a lpong way of, but it´s coming)

So what happens to the various ships that appear in the narrative fleet lists like The Earth/Minbari War book and Argent's Crusaders?

We've got a guy who converted his own Endgame Dreadnought, based on the S&P article, and another who has an entire fleet painted up in EM-War EA colours.

What happens to them when the new rules come out?

EM war ships are represented by the Early era EA. they may be re-stated, named etc, but the colour scheme is still valid, and you can still play from that era :-)
And they are your models, you can represent what you want how you want (apart from in tourneys) so you can house rule the Endgame dreadnought in (if it wasn't already) amongst friends.

The Raider Nova Dreadnought is now a standard part of their fleet list. It's slightly different to the endgame, but is the same priority and does more or less the same job.

Kewl, 8) Very Kewl indeed. 8)

I would suggest the following:

Although I don't know how the new Crit tables will look, consider the "bulk" (formerly "redundancy") rule suggestion allowing big ships a little more survivability.

Give the Minbari some more ships - model them with fins. (No more metal counters figures - make them 3D!)

Make rules for mining an asteroid field :-)

Allow ships to jump out and return to a battlefield (as seen in the series). 3 turns should be sufficient time away.

Allow a ship using the "Initiate Jump Point" SA a chance to use the "Close Blast Doors" SA as well.

Still, I love the news about 2e. Thanks Matt! :D

*drools* Psi Corps fleet... Admiral rules.... donuts... OH wait.

Seriously., looks good. The Ion cannon thing I'm iffy on, but that's more because I'm an old B5 wars fan and Centauri have always had lasers and so did the Dilgar. But still it all looks good. Of course, if you want inspiration for the new League fleets, the Ipsha, Hurr, and all the rest get some lovin' in the old AOG books, of which I have all of them.... mm... Ipsha Warsphere.....

We have also changed the EA to more of a broadside 'feel'. They still have their powerful lasers up front but after blasting the enemy at range, you'll want to concentrate your batteries to Port and Starboard - it makes for a far more tactical fleet. This is particularly noteable with the Omega and Nova, but the theme runs throughout the lists.
I am a bit confused by this, in the series we only see major firepower from the fore arc - for instance the Hyperion had to turn to face the foe in "Voice in the Wilderness" to bring its main batteries to into the fight; plus the Omega and Warlock are both designed with their heaviest weapons forward (H Laser and pulse batteries for the Omega and missile batteries, particle cannon etc for the Warlock). Unless you are going for a redesign I do not see where the broadside element comes in for these ships, which are arguably the most identified with the EF Fleet.

Apart from that 2e is sounding very good! :D

The Hyperion still has most of its guns to the front. The Omega is shown in different capacities in different shows. Where it could line up a clear shot with its primary weapons it took it (e.g. Voice in the Wilderness, Severed Dreams). Where this isn't the case (e.g. Messages from Earth), it relies more on its secondaries. The broadside "feel" is much more on the secondary weapons than the primary weapons.

The Firebolt! That's my broomstick in fighter form! (Tips hat to Burger and the crew)

These all look like good things. I can't wait for the Psi Corps fleet, the preview looked mean.

While there is no 'redundancy' rule, big ships will be able to cope with criticals better, due to a combination of factors.

I can think of at least three separate factors that make this the case...

I'm hoping those Ion Cannons are at least 24" on range!
With all these new traits and such coming into play, does this mean increased paperwork to keep track of?

I'm a little worried about that as well. Honestly though it would be tough to introduce new things into the game without increasing the paperwork since the game already has so litte.

No. We're actually looking at decreasing some paperwork.
