Planetary information/ System information

Cosmic Mongoose
There was a website called Traveller Highport that had all hte planets of a system mapped out. Gas giants were listed as methane or exotic or hydrogen, planets were described.

The website has been down for months. Is there a location where all the planetary data is available? I want to describe a system, but if there is a canon source of what types of planets are in each system I want to use that.

The Traveller Wiki is fairly comprehensive about canon. Highport had good stuff, but it wasn't necessarily canon. You may be able to find some of its content with the Wayback Machine.

Various versions of Traveller have had advance system generation rules Megatraveller, DGP did two supplements for classic Traveller. Also Scouts started it followed by DGP's grand survey and grand census. Megatraveller had the advance world building rules from scouts in the GM's plus DGP created World Builders Handbook I suggest the later for anyone playing Traveller of any kind. I plan on expanding all the systems I use when I'm running.

The Traveller Map has official canon information on a very large proportion of Charted Space (pretty much all of it, though some of the data is still in review I believe) - including stellar type and classifications, number of worlds and gas giants, etc. It is not as detailed as I think you're looking for but it may be a good place to start.

And then this site does a great job when I need system detail and don't have time to write/roll it up myself...

https://donjon.bin.sh/scifi/tsg/

You may be able to do a sort of plug-n-play between the two sites and have some canonical system info with easily generated details. Just pick a few worlds generated by donjon and plug them into the Map data. Most of the canonical Third Imperium is undefined at this level so whatever you come with it shouldn't be a problem.

Add in the trav wiki and you should be good to go.

He's right it's a good place to start but I still suggest getting grand survey, grand census and the world builders handbook those three pluse the sources that have been suggested will really take you worlds to the next level

Thanks for the information. What I am trying to do is write up an adventure based in the systems in and around the Drinaxian system.
Take Torpol for example. The traveller wiki states 4 Gas Giants — 2 Planetoid Belts — 9 Other Worlds. The Torpol Cluster book says that the 10 planets are rocky and only Torpol has liquid water.
Mention is then made of gas giant moons.

I don't want to make an adventure in Torpol where I plunk a moon around a gas giant like Europa around Jupiter. Europa would be a source of 2 earths worth of water. This could be huge fuel source, a source of adventure for ice mining or under ice ocean exploration. But I am not eager to plunk a moon with a water source if there is an actual source of canon material about the Torpol system.

If there is nothing canon, then I will happily make stuff up, but if there is a source of material I will happily use that.

I've been using the system generator in T5 with a few adjustments - mainly reducing the populations on secondary worlds for low-tech primary worlds. For systems in frontier areas I recommend a similar practice but YMMV.
