Perfect Warrior Bug

Gauntlet-

Banded Mongoose
Anyone who knows me might remember that my warrior bugs are obsessed with being 'Accurate' to the move.

Thus I added the tail fins (used warrior arm claws) to the back and shaved the bottom jaw into a 1 toothed piece.

I've continued my obsession and am building 3 super accurate warrior bugs for a diorama piece.

Modifications:

A) Top Jaw piece used for a bottom jaw.
B) Alternate placement of hip piece
C) Used shaved down leg claws for tail fins, the shape is more accurate than arm claws.

D) Used rippler mandibles for the small side mandibles Warriors have (barely visible in most scenes from movies)

E) Used rippler light claw arms for arms, as the shape is more apropriate, used Warrior Leg Claws for the arm claws... shape more appropriate.

F) Used model filler to form a proper 'forehead' and raise the top jaw above the main body, so instead of top of the skull being level it is raised.

G) Did my best painting it... still not a good enough painter... sigh.

Mongoose based their warrior bug model far more closely to the Roughneck CG show, that is where the two pronged lower jaw comes from for example.

Firstly; the forehead and jaws are pretty clearly shown here, as NOT a series of 4 Spike like protrusions.

The curvature of the arms, claws, and the torso placement are decently shown here. The mongoose placement of torso is practically under the jaws, whereas here we can clearly see it coming from the middle of the upper torso. You can also see the tail fins, though not well.

This view from the rear shows the arm claws again, but more importantly the two Feeder Claws. These two mandibles/jointed limbs are the 7/8th limbs, thus qualifying the Warrior Bug as an Arachnid (by middleschool standards only of course).

Ultimately I'm pretty confident with how to mod bugs to fit this, with the exception of the legs, which I could probablly fix decently if I had access to Tyranid bits. The rear legs are significantly longer than the front.

That looks really sharp Gauntlet. :)

I too am not a fan of the way the bugs look compared to how the look in the movie. I'm tweeking them left and right to make them look more real and more unique from the next (opening mouths, changing legs, etc).

Very nicely done. :D I did a little converting to three of my warriors. Though, I just replaced the puny little claws with legs and used some glue and putty to shape the spot around where I sliced the sections.
