Nike Class Battlecruiser

The fins don't appear to be much mroe than decoration for the model, maybe I'll paint mine up as solar panels or something...the EA is know for its "functional design" philosophy...

wash it gently in soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and let it air out.
I'm sure timeslip can offer some advice?

Hm, second person with broken wings. I suppose 2 out of 'X' that have shipped and arrived isn't too bad...maybe their being trounced on in shipping.

Looking forward to additional pics.

Timeslip was telling me that if your wings are not straight, you can run them under hot/warm water (or hold it under a air dryer ~ but not both!!!) and carefully bend them so they're straight.

That's what I need to do before I prime it?

The larger wings glued back on fine. Luckily for me the only two small ones that had been broken were on the underside. Since I found these impossible to glue back on, they got the axe.

Though the rest of the model came together really well. It assembled fine and just needs a bit of cleaning up before I throw the primer and paint to it.

Got mine today, very nice model. The only defect was a nasty mold line down the port side but it cleaned up nicely with an emory board with little loss of detail. The only breakage was the particle cannon and that was totally my fault. My ham fists broke it off taking it out of the packaging! Doh!

The rest of the orders have shipped. As of now, anyone who has placed an order either has their ships or it's in transit (aka hyperspace).

FYI, I may have to bump up shipping to Europe. Northern Ireland, Germany, and Italy (!) killed me...maybe just $1 or so...

Keep those pics coming!!!

As promised.

It's missing some weapons. That's because I embarassingly lost one of the large turrets. I really should have used clippers.

Though I'm happy with how it turned out, though I need some better pictures.

Love the blue paint scheme kritikalfailure! And it looks fine without the additional turrets - call it the fast cruiser variant!

@Rynar, just curious which parts broke? The front antennae I anticipate breaking. In fact it was originally supposed to be a separate piece but the Great Maker for whatever reason made it part of the front hull.

Talks with Mongoose have begun on making this official...stay tuned.

Even if it makes official, i will be one of the few to own the original RESIN model ^^.

Got my delivery message from paypal.

*starts being a very happy puppy*

I think from what the paypal thing said, mine shipped on tuesday, so I reckon sometime next week, Damn you prelude, I hate EA and you made me buy some!

I'm eagerly awaiting mine too........lol
Knowing me, i won't even assemble it for awhile, but i thought it was a great way of supporting the fan made ships.
Especially since its as good or better than Mongooses. :)

well now Im back in a job and have money coming in again I may well order one sometime soonish if theres any left (if it runs out before I'll justr have to make do without :P)

ok prelude Im sold after seeing some painted ones :D Order placed :)

Incidentally prelude I dont suppose youd think of making a Lupo frigate? Methinks crusade EA could do with a skirmish choice thats not an obsolete piece of junk like the hyperion ;)

I built mine yesterday. The front gun broke off really easy, but a trip to the hobby store and some thin sheet styrene later the thing is back on and not going anywhere. I even had a couple of gun turrets leftover from building my Nova and modified them a little and put them on the cruiser too, so mine is REALLY armed up. :)

Just need to prime it and paint it now. The quality was excellent andother than the main gun breaking and a couple of the tiny turrets needing some delicate work, the rest was very good. All of the noticable mold lines were easy to clean up and none really marred the main surface of the ship. Very nice work!

Thanks prelude. You guys did really good. Looking forward to more ships in the future! :)

Oh, two fins (one even in three pieces) the front gun ( aso one in three pieces) an two of the warlock turrets. But I've already glued both of them and they look suberb. I will need to take care when transpoting them dough.

I'm hoping it becomes official!!!! 8)

by official are you meaning an official model they can cast and sell or are you meaning some officail game stats we'll see in S&P?

Chern

Well, I certainly hope they get on the band wagon, you did fantastic work. I also hope they consider a jump over to resin.....
