Emperor Mongoose
Announcing my new adventure for sale on DriveThruRPG.com: MAKERGOD

https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/256931/Traveller-Makergod

Here's the cover blurb: "The raiders of Oghma mercilessly prey upon the blighted star systems of the Outrim Void. Their endless plundering has reduced their neighbors to pre-starflight technology.
When the travellers get caught up in an Oghman raid, they find themselves going to the raiders' homeworld, a strange and unique place where starfaring tech meets the barbarism of Ghengis Khan.
But something is happening on Oghma. Oghma has deep, dark secrets and the travellers can either help drag this savage world out of the darkness, or be swallowed up by it forever."

Includes a complete adventure, a brand-new starship, the Threshing Oar-class raider (illustrated by fan-favorite artist Ian Stead, stats, including 2D and 3D deck plans), a new grav vehicle (the Doomsayer APC), world map, character art, and graphics.

I worked on this one for a looooong time. Features the planet Oghma in the Trojan Reach. Designed to work as a standalone adventure or it can be inserted into a "Pirates of Drinax" campaign. Ian Stead did a fantastic job on the starship art. Thanks for checking it out.

Why not? Its only 7 bucks. Not sure when I’ll have time to read it, much less play it, but you got at least one download today :D .

Thanks, Old School. I appreciate the purchase. I hope it serves some purpose for your campaign whether you run it or not. The ship along with Ian’s excellent illustrations might be of use. I’m in envy of his illustration talents.

It’s actually selling quite well already. I think there are a lot of us Traveller players hungry for material. I know I’ve bought a lot of other peoples’ work.

I bought it and it looks very well done.
Not sure if I'd actually run the adventure but it great background for Drinax about how Oghma works.
How do things released via TAS fit into canon? Does this become "official" for that system, or is it subject to being overridden by the Drinaxian Compaign, for example?
Also, did the TAS process, which I'll have to look into, give you templates to make the document look like Mongoose, or did you need to recreate that on your own?

Thanks for purchasing it, Geir. Good question on canon. I'm sure that if Mongoose proper wants to overwrite it, they can. There is the gray area that Mongoose is the sponsor of the TAS program and they have Marc's blessing to create canon, but on the other hand, Mongoose has no idea what a given TAS writer is writing until they publish it. So, for example, one of the adventures I wrote, "Iron Spine" (also published on DriveThru) describes one of the Glorious Empire worlds in great detail. Mongoose has talked about releasing a Glorious Empire/Florian League sourcebook and if they do, they have the right to overwrite what I created.

I should note that I try to stick to canon as closely as possible and then extrapolate upon it.

The TAS program provides templates for you to use:

In addition, I've created a few of my own. I didn't like the half-page vehicle template that they give you for TAS, so I deconstructed one of the Mongoose full-page vehicle PDFs, stripping out the graphics with Adobe Illustrator, and reformatting them in InDesign. Adobe InDesign is the tool that TAS gives you templates for.

If you get your project going and want some of my modified templates, be sure to PM me. I'd be happy to help!

I got this the other day. Great job, what I've read so far. I crave this kind of in-depth treatment of various systems in the Reach. I love the ship too.

Given how impenetrable the main world is, the system should probably be red zoned, right? I suspect that evil GeDeCo have used their clout to ensure that doesn't happen.

If I use the adventure I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for purchasing it, Dan, and I'm really glad you like it. Please let me know how it goes when you run it. I really want good feedback on what works, what you and your players enjoyed the most, and what could use improvement. I plan to write many of these, most of which will be in the Trojan Reach, and your comments will help. If you get the chance to write a review on DriveThru for "Makergod," I will be eternally grateful. :)

Yes, you would think Oghma would be interdicted, but I suppose the same could be said of many worlds in the Reach. In my campaign, the IISS has now interdicted Tktk to protect its chirper variant population, so I play a bit with the TAS codes. I even use travellermap's poster maker to update the sector map from time to time. Could be that in your campaign, Oghma's TAS code changes based on what your players do there.

If you like world detailing, hopefully you'll like the next one I'm writing. It's the conclusion to the "Iron Spine" trilogy, and I'm detailing five Hierate worlds near the Glorious Empire border, including maps, system details, and write-ups for each. The adventure will also include a new starship, a class specific to the Glorious Empire.

Paltrysum, After a craxy work schedule to wrap up the year finally had time to go through this cover to cover. Very well done, and a worthy addition to anyone’s Trojan Reach Collection!

Thanks very much, Old School! I really appreciate it. More to come in the very near future. I’ve written what is effectively the completion to the Iron Spine trilogy as well. I hope to have an announcement about that adventure soon.

You’re a busy guy. I’ve got the week off, so hopefully I can get a couple of updates to my campaign posted.

Looking forward to it. It’s been fun. Like reading a serialized sci-fi epic. 😊

Merry Christmas to everyone by the way. Travel safely!
