1. Considering the two new levels of the Shadow Ships, is there going to be a new, larger sculpt to represent the Ancient Level ship?
2. I read somewhere else that the Marathon's stats have been released (and that they're lacking), but couldn't find where with my limited search-fu. Can someone fill me in?
Thanks, everyone!

The new Marathon stats look perfectly fine to me! Not better or worse than the Omega, just different.hiffano said:It's my personal opinion only. I have no doubt others will be happy with it. It's from proofing thatI know them, sorry for getting your hopes up..... but it's not so far till release!

katadder said:and i would say they average the same amount of damage each per turn with main beam but the omega averaging more crits.
The average damage done is virtually the same (slightly lower, because TD bulkhead hits do the same damage as DD), as you say, the extra damage from those crits balances out the lower number of crits.msprange said:What swings it (for me) is the difference in damage when those criticals come about. But then, I am good at rolling for criticals![]()

The Marathon is and always has been a good ship killer, but (and it's a BIG but), they're made of tissue paper!
The problem I have always found in my games (particularly 5 point raids) is that the Marathon would only ever get 1 shot off with the main gun, before being destroyed, because it lacks the damage capability of the Omega.
From an analysis point of view, it's not that much more difficult to cripple a Marathon than it is to cripple and kill a Hyperion, so the Marathon is too squishy.
Personally I'd either have gone for a slower Marathon with more damage at Battle, or drop it to Raid but reduce the weapons (say a 2 dice TD beam).
I do like the Marathon model, so it will probably always be part of my fleet, but it'd be nice if it survived past turn 1.
