I wonder....perhaps the Hiver success at creating a federation of many races has as much to do with hivers finding aliens easy to deal with after trying to work with each other.

Course, that's another thing we need - proper writeups of the Zatach'k and the Gurvin. And pictures of them, dammit. (We know something about the Ithklur from the TNE Aliens of the Rim book, but they could do with a bit more detail too).

I think the Hiver Federation is a result of how they just know how to push other races' buttons. After all, everyone likes the Hivers... eventually. ;)

And also it's a result of everyone fearing/hating the K'Kree and their desire not to be left on their own to face 'em.

And oh yeah. One that really needs detail -the Vegans...one of the better non-rubbersuit aliens in the OTU -and, let us not forget, the Dandylions ! NAtive to the spinwards, even (LLewwwwellyyyoiiii or something in space-welsh). Most Confusing Social System Ev-ah.

Yeah, Vegans are sorely missing from the mix. Though personally I think the Dandies are a pretty irrelevant minor race - I never really got some people's obsession with them (many seem to complain about them for some reason).

Okay, that last suggestion about the Dandys was a joke.....maybe.[/quote]

I have voted for the Vargr because they are the second most numerous race in the Spinward Marches. But as I own all the Traveller Reprints from FFE and all the official MegaTraveller products published by GDW (and almost all of the products from DGP), I would prefer a book (or several) about the Minor Races one can encounter in the Spinward Marches (and beyond).

I voted for the K'kree. cause I was hoping a short sector write up would be included with the book :)

I thought Aslan was on the release schedule. I saw somewhere on the MG boards that it was the first alien book that was going to be released.

I too like the idea of the Droyne being profiled that hopefully will lumped together with some sort of Ancients sourcebook. I found the CT Droyne book tantalizing but sparce on the important details...in fact, that is what I found of all the CT Alien books save, Hivers & Darrians. Cannot really comment on GT, as they did some things really great like the Zhodani but found the others - I did not get a feel nor a liking for. That might be because I believe large parts of GT are simply CT rewrites. Notwithstanding, I really like how DGP reinvented the wheel when it came to the MT alien sourcebooks and would recommend this is the route to go.

But, here is an idea...why not resurrect some of the T4 races first. Those spider aliens had much potential that were never really explored. I liked them much more than the tack on aliens that appeared in the GT modules.

I voted for the Hivers. I really enjoy them, especially the totally nutso version done by Nilsen for TNE. And, as other said, I would very much want to see the Ithklur, Gurvin, and whatever other associated races (including MHR and subject Solomani) to be included, too.

In other words, I want it to cover the full Hive Federation, not just the Hivers themselves.

More pragmatically, I think it would be good to cover the aliens of the Marches: Zhodani, Vargr, Aslan, Droyne, and Darrians.

Bonus points for the local minors and commonly encountered minors: Jonkeereen, Chirpers, Llellewyloly, Bwaps, Hlanssai, Ebokin, Shriekers, Larianz, Nexxies, and whatever they are on Craw.

Yeah there's no dot maps for the Hive Federation and Thousand Worlds. A book with a detailed *new* sector write up is what I hope for out of MGT. Not simply rehashing old CT material.

Sure, it makes Mongoose more money, but do we really have to keep reinventing the wheel with every new edition? All that's really necessary I think are rules specific to MGT to let people make alien characters.

I think that's why it makes sense to add an "alien sector" not detailed before to the book. That why MGT won't be reinventing the wheel but will be adding something to the game. Something new and interesting...at least to me :)

If I may say so, I've always wanted to see a background book on the the Krell, the ancient race presented in the classic film Forbidden Planet.
