Mongoose Website Server Problem ?

Mongoose
I seem to have a technical problem with Mongoose's website and this fo-
rum. :?

On most days there are periods of about half an hour to an hour when I
cannot reach the Mongoose website or forum, although my network dia-
gnostics tool tells me that everything is fine, and I have no problem to
reach any other website or forum.

Now I wonder whether the cause of this is on the Mongoose side of the
connection, or whether it is a problem caused by my internet provider or
something else on my side of the connection.

So, do others also have these "timeouts" ?

Thank you. :)

It's not just on your side. Just had it happen a short time ago myself. And certainly not the first time the forum was unreachable. Doesn't seem to effect the blog.mongoosepublishing.com though.

Thank you, good to know there is no problem with my little machine. :D

Now, if Mongoose could perhaps take a look at their server ...

YEah I get sporadic periodfso f unavailability on the various different Mongoose sites. Sometimes only the blog stays up, sometimes only the main site. It's weird, but it passes.

Hi,

Thanks for that report, I can not see any downtime in the logs that is obvious, so I wonder if anyone out there can help me by letting me know the following after you notice an outage next time.

Which sites were unavailable
The exact time you noticed the outage (GMT or let me know your timezone)
Which ISP you are connected with.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Tom

Timeout 10:23 forum time (while typing a post the forum was suddenly
"gone" ...)

According to Windows Network Diagnostics Tool no connection with
the server "www.mongoosepublishing.com" possible, because "host
probably not available"

Internet Service Provider Vodafone (previously Arcor) Germany

The forum was "back" when I attempted to contact it again at
10:52 forum time (2 minutes ago).

Timeout 3:52 forum time
Forum "back" ca. 4:07 forum time (3 minutes ago)
Everything else as above ^^

Timeout from ca. 3:52 forum time until ca. 4:15 forum time (2 minutes ago).
Otherwise as in the earlier posts.

Do you want more reports, or was this enough ?

Hi Rust,

Thanks for the reports.

I wonder if you could confirm that your ip address ends in 55.162.

I am not seeing any gaps in the logs for that time, but I will keep on digging.

Tom

Hi Rust,

Looks like you have been assigned a new ip address by your isp between posts, but that really helped, as I can prove I was looking in the right place.

I am not seeing any gaps in the logs for you or anyone else at the time, which means that the server was working, but the packets were not making it to you.

I will keep an eye on the server as much as possible, but if anyone has problems, could they email me thomas a-t powder-blue d-o-t com as it is happening.

Thanks for all your help and sorry for this intermittent problem.

Had the same issue from here. and down a little earlier, then back up and down again.

Some others seem to have similar problems:
