modelling ideas fo dredd

Mongoose
hey all very new to this....love the minis. Ill be buying a large ammount as i am making a 40k army with them as well as playing the skirmish game :D

hence my topic here.

how would i make dredd stand out amongst a sea of judges? i will be making slight alterations to gloves and boots with green stuff....not too extensive but just making it so all judges have the newer styles. will probably paint a navy uniform on them as well but as i cant really add things to him (or risk destroying his enigma) like you can with 40k heroes. i would beseech you all to help me with some ideas or at least thoughts on mine....my thought at the moment is to model him judging a perp or walking through flames. just not sure if it will make him pop however....i hope this has made some iota of sense to someone.

-EDIT- i need to find a model kit that would suit the judges for a "counts as" razorback for 40k. i have had a little look so far and the scotia grendel website has a few in its VOID and Grendel ranges but i really like the vehicles from atenocitis workshop, warthog or kabardin or hunchback kits. maybe just a little rounding out needed for a smoother feel? link follows

Cheers, Chris

Try checking out the Old Crow vehicles as well: http://www.oldcrowmodels.co.uk/25vehicles.htm the Claymore might be good. Alternatively, this from Scotia Grendel: http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_42&products_id=2730 bit more expensive and looks a bit like Aliens, but very nice.

thanks man! the old crow is really dreddy looking the scotia grendel one is awesome but wont really suit the men that will be inside it.

Yeah, the Old Crow vehicles are very good - I reckon the Slingshot might look a bit like an up-armoured landraider (Dreddy, not GW!!).

Nope.
The Judge Dredd Landraider? The one they went through the Cursed Earth in? The one with the Killdozer at the back? Here, I'll show you:

It's the bit at the front!

I used to have one years ago, then left it in a cupboard at a wargames club just before I moved. Kicking myself for that, lol!

Still, ordered an up-armoured replacement from Old Crow, so we'll see what I can do to that when it arrives!

haha i ask for advice and get a reccomendation and it only strives another to fork out for stuff too :D gotta love the fact we cant resist some of the finer things :P

He - don't mock!! I'm working on a few things at the moment for Dredd, this just seemed to fit in there nicely - case of right time and idea! Painting my Judges and basing them on clear plastic bases - that way I don't get the clash between base and table! Still got to paint some more Mongoose judges and 2 Lawmasters, then some of the Foundry judges (including a nice selection of foreign judges) and I'm keeping one project under wraps at the moment - but it should be cool! Also working on some zombies (GW and WF plastics), got a zombie mistress arriving soon and that's before I start doing anything with the perps!! I think the vehicle might fit in somewhere there!!

Has anyone seen this? Just stumbled across it; it's some clever fellow creating his own Judge Dredd Killdozer - a larger scale to the old metal toy shown above in a previous post and probably a more suitable size for Mongoose's range of Judge Dredd miniatures! :)
