Minbari (questions from a Newb)

So, as someone who is excited about the new edition and even more excited that friends of mine are finally jumping into the B5 boat, I was wondering about 2 races: the Minbari and the Vree.

So, is there any consensus about the Minbari fleet? Any dogs, any required ships?

it's down to personal choice really. Personally I love the Trolligan, but a lot of people will hate it die to it's limited raange compared to some other ships. You really need to get the fleet lists and have a mooch yourself

yep, twop very different fleets there, my other half loves her minbari, and i also have a vree fleet as hiff said its all down to personal choice, go for the ones you like

Minbari are pretty great. However there is the Stealth thang they have going for them. You'll either love it (and your friends will hate it), or cry as it never seems to work.

Any dogs in the fleet? Not any more, the Troligan has been suitably tweaked and the Torotha has been sexed up. Even the carrier is now mounting a <Dr. Evil> Big Frikkin' Lazer.</Dr Evil>. You're really spoilt for choice.

Any required ships? Sharlin War Cruiser. It simply just looks too cool to not have one. You'll probably find yourself mainly fielding Battle level Tinashi Warships (or variants) and Raid level Tigara Cruisers (or variants). A Leshath scout may not be wasted points in many situations either.

Tactically there are two fleet concepts - Beam Teams (where every ship has a Neutron Laser - Teshlan/Tinashi/Sharlin/Neshatan etc., or Knife Fighters (where you get up close and very personal) - Torotha/Tigara/Troligan. Usually you may find a mix of the two work best (frequently with the Knife Fighters striking from hyperspace via an Advanced Jump Point). You also get access to probably the best multi-role fighter in the game.
