Legend for just $1!

As I mentioned on BRPCentral forums, first LEGEND core rules pdf for $1, then LEGEND Monster book for half price also at DrivethruRPG, it's kinda like getting a drink on the house followed by happy hour! I'm very impressed, it's off to a good start. Even if the current MRQ2 players keep their hardcovers, many will buy the LEGEND pdfs just for digital format, especially at these prices!

It's a good life at present...

Thanks for doing this! I bought the book a week or so ago and now just purchased the PDF. A gret deal for gamers!

Bravo to Mongoose!

I think this is a great marketing move: Near-free electronic copy, value-priced hard copy, basically open source for developers, and an elegant and simple black cover. It all reads as "cool alternative to the establishment," which is the niche that RQ/Legend needs to occupy now.

I got my copy okay. :) Well, other than the buggy back page - hint: stop reading at page 240, unless you want to look at the OGL on page 241. The book goes squirrelly at the bottom of page 241.

All of the PDF's I've bought from DriveThru have this problem. I don't have an issue opening them with Preview. Perhaps it's something quirky with the files and Acrobat?

Noticing a problem trying to look at the last page of the file, anyone else having that problem?

I had the problem initially. Then I redownloaded it and it worked fine after that.

Clever 'Goose! Way to get #1 on DTRPG sales charts with a $1 Legend. Very interesting business decision, I hope it gets tons of new people hooked on Legend.

It's kind of like the "console model," where you sell the hardware at a loss (at least initially) so that everyone buys the games!

Just wait till you get ahold of some of that sweet 2nd Party software too! :)

I don't mind having a digest hard copy for the gaming table, and the cheap pdfs are just mothers milk, but I do hope there will be a hardcover edition of the core rules (& core rules supplements) at some stage, even if it's a limited run...it will look so much more 'weighty' in my bookcase, I just love the hard cover editions of MRQ2 and want to see this continued in LEGEND if possible.

But this whole cheap pdf thingy is simply great at present, I hope it gets some new players to the system as I want to have a regular source of supplements for years to come...

Got mine! Love it. I still have to print it out and bind it though, but at least I have it. I just can't believe the price tag. It makes sense from marketing point of view though, especially with the open game content.

The issue with the rear cover page on both Legend Core Rulebook and Monsters of Legend pdf versions only happens with Adobe's own reader. It seems to open up fine with other readers (such as PDF Xchange Viewer and Nitro PDF). But it's still happening with the most recent versions I downloaded.

I am using Adobe Reader 8 and don't have any issues with the final pages of the Legend PDF - I did re-download after the last Mongoose update (that also fixed the bookmarks) so I cannot say whether the issue was with the prior version.

I think it's the newer versions of Acrobat that have the problem. Other readers are fine, as are older versions of Acrobat. I use Sumatra PDF.
