Khitai: WHY?

However I have to wonder, have you written anything for Mongoose ever since the Player's Guide?

No, I haven't. However, they should have a lot of things in their vaults that I wrote before the Player's Guide that they can publish in S&P if they wanted (adventures, a short bit on Zamboula, parts of Shem and Argos/Zingara that were edited out for space reasons, etc.).

Such a shame that we aren't going to see any sourcebook from you for the foreseeable future, it at all. My respect for Mongoose has decreased a bit and I'm less tempted to keep buying Conan sourcebooks since you were the reason I kept on getting the Conan sourcebooks.

I do hope that Mongoose reconsiders this.

Hmmm. How about an alternate tactic: buy as much as you can, convince others to buy as much as they can, making Mongoose realize how profitable the line is, and that they can't keep up with demand unless they hire me back to take up the slack. :D

Doing my best on that. I've bought everything MGP has published in the Conan line so far and plan to continue to do so (hell, I bought the original Conan book, the Atlantean Edition, The Pocket Edition, a PDF version of the Atlantean and Pocket Editions, and the 2e book). Each of my players has a Conan 2e book (one even has the Player's Guide  ). In addition to that I'm driving as many eyes as I can to the Mongoose Conan site by linking the header of my campaign wiki (see link in signature).

I'm actually doing that, I have all 2nd Ed books ready to be delivered to me and I convinced one of my players to get the 2nd ed mainbook as well. It's just that I can't think of Conan being the same without your contribution, that's all. Once you're used to the best...

Right. My point is that the Stygia book is not a Lemurian source book, like Kintire said. It's not even a Descendants of Lemurians source book.

If I may be permitted to clear my name... :P

I was hoping the Khitai book had a little of this in it, because I'd like to be intrigued with the history of the Lemurians and learn more about "that mysterious race" that inhabited the eastern lands after the first cataclysm.

We already have a sourcebook on them!

"Them" refers, by default, to the last reference before it which in this case is ""that mysterious race" that inhabited the eastern lands after the first cataclysm.", not the Lemurians, which is the last but one. This mysterious race did indeed go on to found Stygia.

We now return you to your previously scheduled thread.

@Loz

The poster above reminds me... What about Yag, from the Tower of the Elephant. Yag spent much time in Khitai. That's where Yara found him. From Howard's story, much of Khitai's sorcery centered around Yag.

I would love to see something like this expanded and expounded upon in a Khitai sourcebook.

Any such luck? Did you include Yag anywhere in the book?

Khitai: WHY?

Perhaps the Olympics? I know that I personally wasn't all that excited about the Khitai source book, but watching all this beautiful high definition scenery of China during the Olympics is inspiring me. I bet the Olympics were a factor in pushing Khitai ahead of some of the other more obvious regions in Mongoose's priority list.

Possibly, but I think its actually just a coincidence. Something that may have influenced the choice, though, was the recent exhibition of the Qin terracotta warriors at the British Museum.

So, maybe the new Mummy movie has something to do with it...
