Just how well will the Historicals work together?

Really, will they combine seamlessly or will there be some awkward parts to iron out? For example, let's say I want to try some crazy stuff out and have Samurai fighting Vikings. Or maybe something a little less crazy and have a group that are Japanese pirates.

Keep in mind, I have pretty much zero RPG knowledge/experience at the moment, but the RQ Historicals are really getting me interested.

The Vikings didn't get as far as Japan but they did range across most of Europe and into Arabia. But as for Japanese pirates I would be very surprised if there wasn't any. The South China Seas are quite famous for pirates.

Dear All,

The Japanese were notorious pirates (Chinese criminal elements even colluding with and eventually taking over from Japanese wokuo).

All the best

The historicals work to the same, core rules, so you shouldn't have any difficulty mixing and matching.

Dude, who's going to argue with a shotgun toting chipmunk?

"Alright, if you say the vikings we're Japan little fella, I'm not about argue..."

I don't have pirates and most probablly won't get it but I am going to get land of the samurai. I would be very surprised if the rules didn't combine easily, of course how many of the ships will be Japanese in the book is another matter. You might need to come up with some stats for them yourself and as to when in feudal Japans history you put it will impact on the technology that they have. However from what I have seen of the MRQ rules they do appear to be easy to combine.
