ISA Fleet sugestions

I am looking for some ideas to fill out my fleet more. Here is what I have so far:

1 Victory
1 White Star Carrier
2 White Star Gunships
4 White Stars
1 Liandra
1 Nolo'Tar Ranger
4 Blue Stars
4 Flights of Starfuries
10 Flights of White Star Fighters
4 Flights of Nials

Just looking for sugestions so that I can have enough for bigger games and such. Ideas for adding just ISA ships and other alliance ships are greatly appreciated.
 
Nice start, for most folks this would be a very complete fleet (poetic, ain't I?) Not knowing who you habitually do battle with I'll just keep it simple. More White Stars are never a bad thing.. nothing like a few squadrons of them zipping about to annoy the other guy. More fighters, especially Nials and WS fighters. Then shop around some for other League/Alliance ships to drop into your fight. It always throws your opponent off his feed if your "ISA" fleet is leavened by some non-standard components. I've got some Narn and Vree ships in mine usually. Their Raid and skirmish level ships can give you some different capabilitys. Most folk tune their fleet list to a certain type of fleet. With League assets you can throw them off balance. The Vree patrol boats are nasty customers and nothing excites the other player like some E-mine love.

More Nolo'Tars. I was just going through the lists and for a Skirmish choice, Nolo'Tar Frigates are pretty nasty.
Definitely more WS Fighters and White Stars. And more fighters over all.

I am also working on an ISA Fleet.
Here's my list (most unpainted. I need to get around to finishing them):

2 Victory Destroyers (I got the old ISA fleet box)
1 White Star Carrier
1 WS Gunship (I want another one)
10 White Stars
1 Liandra
1 Nolo'Tar (must have more)
And, of course, fighters. Need more and some Blue Stars...
Amazingly, it's a small ship list. But it's nasty (so long as you don't get hit).
 
Well, since we are displaying our fleet assets...
Victory class destroyer- Two!
White Star Carrier- Two, three with a usable proxy
White Star Gunships-Three
White Stars- 22
Nial Fighters- 16, shared with my Minbari fleet
Thunderbolts- enough for my Victorys
White Star Fighters- 36 (yes, 36)
Flyers-6
Tara'lin cruiser- 1-6, shared with my Minbari Fleet

yes, its all painted. I've got Blue Stars (choral response from Galaxina) on their way. No Nolo Tars just yet but definetly on the acquisition list.

My current fleet is as follows.

2x Victory
1x WS Carrier
1x WS Gunship
10x White Star
10x WS Fighters
3x Blue Star
2x Nial
6x Starfuries

I need more Nial's for sure, but I have also been thinking of picking up more Blue Stars, possible 2 more packs of them to have a total of 9.

I am also curious, how useful is the WS Gunship? From what I have seen it really has not been that impressive.
 
I know someone who's interested in the ISA. Are 2 victories too much to start with? Should they buy the new box instead of the old one? I'm guessing so, but thought I'd ask.
 
That is a pretty nice fleet already. I'd go for some allies next. Maybe a couple of Gaim, EA, Drazi or Vree. Whatever you like the look of, really :)

I've never fielded more than 1 Victory at a time, so 1 is enough really. Unless you want alternate paint schemes, of course!
 
Allies are your friends. I'd look into investing in a G'Karith, excelent fighter clearance, maybe a halik if you prefer an alternate antifighter choice. and maybe a couple of missile cruisers to give you more long range support

I'd add at least another pair of White Stars to that, maybe more, before looking at allied units from the League, Minbari or Earth. I hate the Narn... :wink:

It is twice the firepower of a White Star all wrapped up in one destructable package. Nice to have in a big game but not always worth it in smaller games. Mine tend to be mortar magnets.

The self-repair 2 can sometimes be better than 2 ships with self repair 1 (if your opponent concentrates firepower). Also the WS fighters can be very useful. But basically, it is 2 White Stars strapped together!

Well, to be more accurate, I'm expecting in in some six Blue Stars and two more White Stars. 0;>

Drazi Guardhawks (a Sunhawk variant) should work too. There nearly as nippy as the Whitestars themselves. Though a lot more fragile with only being a Patrol level choice.

9/10 times except in VERY large games Id say 2 Whitestar IIs are a better buy (you can even squadron them together if you want the impact of all the firepower at once)
 
I agree with the calls for a couple of extra White Stars (and maybe a White Star Gunship). I'd also get 3-4 more Blue Stars for those smaller games.

The one most people haven't mentioned is the Tara'Lin. This ship works very well in larger engagements as you don't have to worry about positioning so much. Also, it gives you an alternative fleet structure (with a Victory and Nolo'Tars and maybe allies) of a solid fleet rather than a fast fleet...
 
The command bonus is nice on the Tara'Lin. Maybe in some scenarios the all-round firepower would be good. Shials rather than Nials... well, useless, Nial is a better fighter. Overall I'd say an allied Sharlin is a much better buy.
