Interest in a SF ACTA tournament at Warlords of Walsall?

Hi guys,

Given that Andy Hobbs is quite interested in SF ACTA, and I have TNG era ships which I could easily use, I'm wondering if there'd be any take up amongst you guys, if the Warlords club decided to host a SF ACTA tournament as opposed to the B5 ACTA one we've run the last couple of years?

What I'm planning to do, is run it alongside a dystopian wars tournament, as that will boost numbers and hopefully bring costs down for everyone.

I am sadly assuming, that B5 ACTA has died a death, which is a shame but life must go on.

Cheers, Rich.

I would be up for it - dependant on dates.

On the other hand be more than happy to play B5 ;) and you would likely also get Ken

Be interested to see how the Dystopian wars system works

What are greg and paul playing these days? And do you hear from Digger, or Target etc etc anymore? I'm more than happy to look at B5 tournament, if enough players will turn up.

i'm actually up for all of them, I know B5 the best. heck set up games on back to back tables and i'll play multiple tourneys :-)

hahahahahahahaha, I can picture that now, how many simultaneous games do you think you can run hiff? :p

I dunno, as many as you can hold, safe in the knowledge i can finish last in all of them!

here is a mad idea:

have 3 or 4 games and you get to play two different games of you choice from:

ACTA: B5,
ACTA: SF
Dystopian Wars

may get people to try new things?

I am up for it dependent on dates as I work 4 on 4 off.

June I am availiable all Saturdays except the 30th.
July I am working all Saturdays except 28th.
August I will be avaiable 11th, 18th

it's a nice idea, but if you are trying something new, you will a) possibly have a really slow game and B) probably loose, which is fine if you turn up just to play, but for the wanna be winners, may not be appreciated. HOWEVER I'm up for this, I'd do trek and DW (naval) for sure.

Yeah also could be pain to get the right players in the right games..............

but I agree I'd be happy to try Dystopian as well as B5 / SF (prefer the former) - there is also NA :D

OKey dokey guys, that gives me food for thought, start chucking some dates out at me then, as Paul has done . . . and can one of you buzz kenny and see if he's interested?

If I get an idea of the dates people can do; I can start planning stuff :)

for childcare reasons, Sunday is better than saturday for me.
the week of the 13-19 august (so 18th/19th) are definate no nos, and "probably" the 25th august is a no-no. Otherwise my calander is currently clear.
if i know know what you will be playing, I might even have time to paint up my fleets!

I'd have to travel there the day before, stay in Travelodge the nights before and after the tournament, then go home the day after. So I can do either Saturday or Sunday; the only difference is whether I travel Friday/Sunday or Saturday/Monday.

The second half of August is out for me. The first weekend of June might also be out. Also, if it's later then train tickets and Travelodge might be cheaper, due to booking in advance rather than last minute. :)

My summer diary is pretty horrible but I can do:

Sat 9th and Sun 10th June
Sun 17th June
Sat 21st and Sun 22nd July
Sat 8th and Sun 9th Sept
Sat 15th and Sun 16th Sept

Right then guys, as this didnt happen this summer, owing to me being way too busy with other things to arrange it, I have a new proposition if you fellows are interested?

As I'd like to continue Warlords of Walsall hosting a B5 tournament each year, would any of you be available in the winter period, maybe something early to mid december?

Numbers would be less of an issue, as I plan to join forces with a friend of mine, who also wants to host a small malifaux tournament . . . so theres a decent chance we can get some good numbers in the hall, and reduce any potential costs.

If B5 really has taken a final knock; then we could always look at a Star Fleet ACTA tournament?

Interested parties, get back to me as you as you can, dates can be flexible, but I need to get some idea of numbers and when you might be available, so I can co-ordinate with my buddy.

Cheers, Rich.

People still have B5 fleets, so there is nothing stopping you running a B5 tournament.

However I'd rather play SF, and I'll turn up for an SF one.

I'd rather play B5 than SF but have both

You might get Ken if it is B5 as well :)

Decemeber is not great for me work wise at weekends but not impossible

yup count me in, I haven't done anything for ages, so i have a fair few brownie points stocked up with the missus.
I'd play B5, DW, or Trek (but would need to loan ships for trek, only own a C8)
or FOW....or Helldorado....
