Historia Rodentia

We're currently hard at work on making sure you won't have to wait too long for the 2nd Historia Rodentia book. The 2nd book only covers two factions from Brushfire, but still manages to add another 17 species. Axony features a populace that Barks, Meows, Oinks, and Quacks; where-as Zabar features folks like this guy:

'The Boar Wars' includes additions to all three of our subsystems from Historia Rodentia, loads of fluff on Axony & Zabar and more. :)

Our Matthew (As opposed to Mongoose's Matthew) is also working on an introductory adventure, for release right around the time Historia Rodentia hits store shelves.

Ooh introductory adventure would be nice but you forgot to mention the Meercats are from Zabar and as my players would attest to, there's nothing scarier than a Meercat (with a Valkyr...)!

Got this over the weekend (well Friday to be precise). Just have to say nice work, i have nearly read the book through, it seems an interesting world and i like the 'demons' of the setting, nice idea. Looking forward to more supplements in this setting.
Also, nice references to some history and 'geek culture' (Moleon, the 'Doctors', few others :) )

Thanks :)

Since Brushfire is largely based around Historical parody, you'll find a lot of proper history being referenced/made fun of in its fluff and units, and as we bring out more Historia Rodentia books we hope to expand on that.

A few pics from yesterday's Historia Rodentia event at Ancient City Con in Jacksonville, FL. The fellow who wrote the adventure for our Gencon sessions ran a session of it yesterday, and is running one again today.

We had a very good response, people really liked the Legend System and Historia Rodentia's setting. If you're going to be at Gencon you should definitely try to make it to one of the sessions!

Matthew was nice enough to post the character sheet we made (a Fill-able and Save-able PDF!) on the HR Product page.

You can download it here: LINK

Awsomness! :)

Thanks for this.

Is it possible for the maps to be released as downloadable PDF/Tiffs please? Nothing worse than a map that spans the fold in a book....!

Can I just ask...why does an English company use American spellings? Armor instead of Armour?

Because we're in Florida. 8)

Here is a 'low-res' JPEG of the world map: LINK (Its only 3,438px × 1,563px)

I'll see about getting a PDF or TIFF out later tonight.

We have a chance to get Brushfire and/or Historia Rodentia into "The Gamers 3: The Hands of Fate", and we're going to do our best to make it happen. To do so, we need to get 200 Likes/Shares on this image on our Facebook page.

If you could take a moment to click the button, we'd really appreciate it. If you are interested in backing the film's Kickstarter (You don't have to!), leave a comment that On The Lamb Games sent you.

Any news on this "second book"?

Also, the on the lamb page has missing pages, and a good number of images and linked items on this thread have disappeared.

I also wonder - how much extra info is in the "Brushfire Second Edition" rulebook compared to the RPG book? I can't afford the £26 (normally £39!!!!) for the rules just to see.

I have yet to read the rpg book...there's just so much info to read and digest...it's a monster!

Brushfire 2nd Edition is the 2nd Edition of the Wargame Rules with 9 factions, and other than fluff it wouldn't be much use for Historia Rodentia RPG players. The Brushfire miniatures line is currently on hiatus

There is no date for an additional HR RPG book at this time.

I've written a short review of HR, which you can find at: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1378772/animal-warfare-or-wow-s-lot-information-read

That's a shame about the supplement book, as the threads back in 2012-13 made it sound like you were really excited to be working on it and it wouldn't be long in the making.

Thread necromancy! :)

Has anyone GMd/played this since my last post in the thread? I still want to but, well, still havn't read it!

And any news on that next book for it? (Unlikely I know)
