High powered play questions

Havent played MRQ on high levels of power yet, so here's some questions and observations.

1: It seems likely that after a certain point, almost every attack will be a precise attack to negate armour. Most of the powerfull critters have extremely high armour ratings, so if your skill is in the 150 range anyways, negating 10 points of armour is likely a better deal than the 4% difference in critical chance.

2: Once a character reach a resilience skill of 90+, he will be extremely hard to actually knock out or kill. Thoughts ?

3: It seems that creatures will large damage bonuses, like trolls or dragons, will be extremely dangerous, since dodging doesnt minimize the damage bonus, only the weapon damage (which can be the least of the worries). Is this something to be concerned about, or ?

Cheers!

Add all those factors together, and it's pretty bad news for powerful characters. If you have enough magic to give decent damage pluses (Truesword, Damage Boosting, etc.), and enough skill to use precise attack regularly, then you can dish out an awful lot of damage that you're opponent really can't do much about.

The problem is, if you're opponents are at a similar scale of capability, there's not much you can do about that either. A success/success roll on attack and parry yields normal damage minus the parrying weapon's AP. On a precise attack, that's all the APs that will count so shields are an absolute must!

Figure on getting you're first hit in as early as possible, and hope for the best. Also, make sure you suck up to some people with Resurrect spells to blow, because you'll need them.

As for the resilience problem, they will go down eventually, but it will take a while. Do enough to kill them (eventualy), then run for it as additional damage will make little to no difference.
