High Guard hull points calculation

Highguard 2016 hull points calculated at 1 per 2.5 ton, 1 per 2 tons 25K, 1 per 1.5 tons 200K
Add 10% reinforced hull
Add 20% close structure

High Guard 2022 update kept same except dropped close structure percent.
So.. most of the heavy ship hull point didn't add up. Just got spinward states and the Acrux and Apollo don't match up.
Acrux 30250
Apollo 48000
What I mean is Acrux 50k 25000 hp
Plus 10% reinforced and 10% close
So is the calculation 50000/2=25000×.2=27500×.1=30250
Ie. You stack the percentage?
On the Apollo 80000/2=40000 (here's the wonky) 40000×.2=48000 (book)
So not 40000×.1=44000×.1=48400

So which is right? Total percentage or stacked percentage?

The example in the blue sidebar in High Guard, pg 13, says the results are recalculated at every step. This is effectively saying the percentages are stackable.
But, shouldn't the calculation for Apollo start on -10% rather +10% (as per your calculations)? 40000x.2 suggests streamlined hull and no specialised types added. But I can't see as I don't have the spinward book you refer to.

Well, the first calculation in percentage wouldn't matter, since either would get the same result.

Potentially, you could zero the cost.

Logic indicates you're doing something with the resulting altered material, at each stage.

Not sure if the ships in spinward states used highguard 2016, since it came out in 2022.
If they used the high guard 2022 update both would lose the 10% bonus for close structure and neither hull points total would be correct

You could grab Arkathan”s build spreadsheet and plug it in to see what happens.

The Spinward Extents book was written in 2020, long (well, long-ish) before the HG 2022 update came out. So all of the designs in there probably need a redo.
